Re: Color poll and pros/cons of each

I wanted Mineral Gray and my wife wanted True Blue (it is her DD after all)...we compromised and got True Blue. One of the reasons she didn't want gray is b/c "everyone has that color", which is a fairly valid thought if you look around here. On the flip side, I got to buy a bunch of new detailing supplies b/c these dark colors are a PITA to keep clean, but once they are clean they look freakin' amazing. I love the deep inky look that the True Blue has in some light, especially after some coats of a good sealant and wax.

Re: Color poll and pros/cons of each

Looks like you missed good ole' Blackberry Pearl

Pros: Looks amazing esp after a full detail. Appears almost black unless in direct light.
Cons: More work to keep clean... but worth it!

Re: Color poll and pros/cons of each

Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl coat Love it!!!!!

Pro - When it is clean, the depth and color levels in it are incredible.
Con - Not clean often, like most dark colors show dirt

Re: Color poll and pros/cons of each

Stone White
Pro-very sharp looking, i think it stands out with the chrome. Love my stone white! And yes, as Jdsmitty10 pointed out....you don't see any swirls. Even when dirty, you really can't tell to much

Cons- I will say this.....even though it kind of hides dirt pretty well, the back end gets VERY dirty. It could rain just once, and there will only be a little dirt on the bottom sides, but the back looks like i drove through a mud puddle!....LOL (maybe because of the rear wiper?)

Re: Color poll and pros/cons of each

I'm not normally a fan of red except on Ferraris and little bitty cars, although my wife is. But Cherry is a feast for the eyes, somewhere between red and maroon. It really makes the WK2 stand up and click its heels. And unlike black, which looks great only when whistle clean, Cherry still looks pretty good when slightly dirty.

Rugged Brown Pearlcoat

Pros - color changes depending on lighting. In direct sun, its got a really nice deep brown color. In indirect light it looks black. Also, I hardly ever see one this color in my area (Phoenix AZ).

Cons - Imperfections from rock chips etc stand out more than on lighter colors.

Going with Deep Cherry Red Limited with light frost (tan) leather. Really tired of gray, white, black colors, and NO MORE gray interiors, plus black exterior/leather is way too hot in Colorado summer sun!

Re: Color poll and pros/cons of each

MGM was my choice and I couldn't be happier.....actually looks better when dirty. Will post a few pics of my foray into the desert this weekend. The color changes with the light and always looks different, but definitely gorgeous. Ultimately, it fits with my desire for owning this car...total anonymity. It doesn't shout "look at me" to anyone, anywhere. It's just a Jeep at the end of the day and nobody looks at you twice, even though the interior is nicer than any Benz or BMW I have owned and the features are amazing. However, this post was about paint color so I will shut up and get to posting pics of my ride after a little romping.
