Colour Prices

Can any one in Australia tell me if there is a paint surcharge for some colours on the Overland GC.

Certainly is. For all models every colour except white carries a surcharge of $500

Re: Colour Prices

Why is that? Are your standard models that much less costly than USA so you pay for paint? Yes, I realize that white is not metallic or pearl, but there is no charge for colors here. However, MB and Volvo and maybe others do charge for some colors in USA.

Our models are actually dearer than the equivalent US model, but it's just another way for dealers to screw us even more. Almost all the manufacturers do it, but Jeep isn't as bad as the Euros. They charge around $1500-$2000 for metallic or pearl.

Youre right on there ... i just saw an ad for the new Volvo S60 and the fine print stated something like $1500 extra for metallic paint

If you are referring the the U.S. Durango, there are no surcharges for paint. In Canada for the GC and Durango they charge $100-$150 for the metallic paints.
