D'oh! You're right. I had it in my head that the temperature controls worked on resistive heating elements, but that's obviously nonsense.

But I don't know of a way to establish different amounts of airflow to the two sides.

Blendoors mix hot and cold air to achieve the desired temperature.
One per side. But air flow is the same both sides.
