Concerned about overall Jeep quality

I was doing some exhaust work on my SRT and came upon a factory weld with very poor alignment and welding where the rear tip clamps onto the exhaust pipe. Looks like an nooby apprentice did the work. Hope the same guy didn't assemble the engine.

Re: Concerned about overall Jeep quality

Did you buy your SRT new? That does not look factory whatsoever, and if it is I would be very surprised. If you didn't buy it new then I think it's safe to say previous owner had some exhaust work done. As far as I know all the WK2 exhaust tips are clamped on. Welds elsewhere on my exhaust look great. I am very happy with the quality of my Jeep.

Kind of strange since the factory exhaust is assembly welded by robots. But maybe the robot was out of whack. Wouldn't be the first time since many, many WK2's have misaligned liftgates from the factory. And those are installed by robots. But robots are only as accurate as the programming put into them.

Damn, I don't even weld like that and I'm not even a professional at it.

That's from when I did the rear muffler delete. I don't think robots did that, that looks like someone did that and they aren't too good at it
