Confused about the Laredo E package.

Everything I've read and have been told by sales leads me to believe that the JGC Laredo (base, no options) comes equipped Standard w/ roof rails, keyless-enter-and-go, and power driver's seat.

However, I check on the website, and all of that stuff comes with the Laredo E package, which "adds" those features, plus bluetooth and satellite radio.

Can anyone provide some clarity for me on this? I would appreciate it very much.

Just bought a 2012 Laredo w/ E group package after doing research. From what I understand,
there is a 'base' Laredo (sometimes referred to as Laredo E so it is confusing). This model DOES NOT include the Keyless enter and go, power driver seat, chrome roof rails, and bluetooth.
However, if you elect for the 'E Group' package ($2000 MSRP), you get Keyless enter and go, power driver seat, chrome roof rails, Sirius. At the time of my purchase, bluetooth was a separate package.

E.T.A. So, as of May 2012, there were quite a few 2012 WK2s on the lots in my area that did not include Keyless enter and go, power driver seat, chrome roof rails, and bluetooth.

After talking to another salesman to clarify, I think the other salesmen just didn't know what they were talking about.

Thanks for the clarification.

Something I forgot to ask was whether or not the push button start was something that comes w/ keyless enter and go. I assume it is, just wanted to clarify.

I'm buying this car as a daily, and I'm having a hard time justifying the Laredo E package.

$2,000 for power seats on a seat that I will almost never adjust, chrome roof rails, and keyless enter and go?

I am getting bluetooth for sure. Sigh.

Invoice for the E package is only $1,000 so that is all you should pay for it max.

That is because Jeep was trying to match the base price of a Ford. You can buy one like that (suspect was mainly sold for fleet sales) but any real option (like the towing package) also requires the "E".

That said it was possible earlier this year to buy a well equipped Laredo (Uconnect, "E", towing) with an "out the door" including TTT for under $30k. For under a grand you can add Katzkins & the passeger can slide their own seat.

IMNSHO any modern car needs the Uconnect for handsfree telephony and the fobic to toss to a parking valet. Autounlock is nice also.

Do think audio alone or even audio with sat-nav is archaic, unless it can do 3G/4G the 130 is fine.

Laredo E Group

Power 4-Way Driver Lumbar Adjust
Bright Side Roof Rails
Keyless Enter-N-Go
Power 8-Way Driver Seat
SIRIUS Satellite Radio
1-Year SIRIUS Radio Service
Remote USB Port

At one point in time, starting from the beginning of the 2012 model year, the "E Group" was a required option on the Laredo E.

When I was first building my Jeep on the web I found out real fast that if you want any kind of extra option then the E package is required. I agree $2000 is a rip off for the few extras you are getting but that is how they make their money. I don't know what rebates are out there right now but I was able to get my Laredo 4x4 with the E package, sunroof, and off road package for under $31000. The blue tooth is great but most people complain about not being able to hear me clearly. Don't know if is the jeeps microphone or a crappy connection to my nearly 5 year old Motorolla phone ( I know, time to upgrade).

I have the base 4x2 Laredo with the Blue Tooth option which includes a one year subscription to Sirius radio. The base has manual seats. I wanted electric seats but couldn't find one nearby. The Laredo is nicely equipped in the base trim. It stickers out at less than 28K. I did add the dealer installed side steps and expect to put in leather seat skins in the near future.
