After having my GC for more than a year..yesterday I found out something new..maybe you all knew about this before..but I thught Id share it.
Basically I didnt know the little tray where the USB and SD card goes had 2 levels !...I found out as I knew I had purchased 2 rolls of candy...and I was the only one in the car....and couldnt find the other one...and guess what ?..it was there !..in the upper level !...so I was quite happy about it..
Every day and after a year i still find out more things that make my day with my Jeep !.
Below is a pic...and if you all knew about this..then sorry for taking your time.
Rgds and have a great weekend.
What does it look like? I bought this from Amazon and it's served me well so far. Goes right into the door pocket for drinks. Only thing I don't like is how exposed it is. So if someone opens the door, it's the first thing they see.
Dang, I have a hard enough time getting that pesky shifter in the right gear as it is; if I had to do it with my left hand I'd never get out of the driveway.
I thought I lost my wallet after the first few weeks of having my 2014 Jeep. Guess where my wallet was? Kind of threw it there blindly. Finally noticed it was there after an hour of searching my house and the rest of the Jeep.
Very similar story as mine, except it was my sunglasses. I was sure I put them in that compartment, but they weren't there when I opened the cover. I ran back to the store I went into after I parked, searched the whole store, retraced my steps to the car, searched everywhere in the car, then when I was driving they moved slightly and came out of their hiding spot.
My Walther PPK nicely fits in the shelf, and I don't have to worry about anyone with sticky fingers (parking attendants, car wash crew, etc.). Safe and out of sight yet handy. ?
I'm not sure it would be safe from those you mentioned. They probably know every nook and cranny of every vehicle they have an opportunity to pilfer. That is their second job after all.
I had been looking around for a place to put my change when I found this area by surprise one day. I had been putting it on the lower shelf and then realized there was an upper shelf. It was a great find as I need $1.25 for train parking every day.
If you take the part number that was so kindly posted by MOFSteel (5108051AA) and plug that into the search box on eBay, then scroll down and look for a dealer from Oregon - with sell price of $18 and change.
LOL... I've had my 2015 GC for going on 10 months now and just found this second level. And the only reason I found it was because I read this thread then decided I had to go check for myself. Found a stick of chapstick that I thought I lost.
I also wish they could have incorporated something within the armrest between the seats. I have blu ray system, which takes up some room in the bottom plastic part. But it seems like they could have also incorporated another bin within the padded piece that lifts up.
Really that many of you are having a big problem with storing loose change? Throw it in that cubby hole or in the cup holders. When you need some change, move your mentos out of the way or lift your big gulp up. If you have so much change it's spilling out of the cubby or you can't fit a drink in anymore, you have too much change in the Jeep.
