Re: Cool New Video for 2014 JGC

I don't live in Texas, but have a lot of relatives who do so I'm there a lot - have never seen front Texas plates such as those you describe, and I'm sure if that were an option then many Texans would opt for that. I imagine you gotta display what they issue you. You could also just stick the front plate under a seat, and if you get stopped for not displaying front plate then just show it to 'em and use the "I haven't had time to install it yet" excuse.

Yeah, did what you just mentioned for about 3 yrs with a bmw 330ci I used to have until they had enough and told me next time your getting a ticket cause we issued you about 4 warnings already. It was always state troopers when I went out of town on the interstate. Inside the city never got stopped. Still hopeful but maybe your right and I'll just have to suck it up and put it there as fugly as bit would look.

Nice vid! On the front plate comments, I am planning on keeping my front off. The TX State Troopers out in the boonies (outside of the DFW/San Antonio/Houston triangle have tough jobs, but it seems the ones inside the triangle are overly aggressive and try to ruin your day. The last one pulled me over acted like he was going to shoot me as he approached my car... I almost hit the gas for my own safety (While calling 911 to inform of my situation and location of nearest LEO station)

Lanrete, problem is I live in el paso and since smaller town, less crime, they have more time to mess with people and stop people for broken taillights, dark tints, and oh yeah no front license plate.

Re: Cool New Video for 2014 JGC

Hey, Papote, I used to be in El Paso all the time when I was stationed at White Sands Missile Range. I drove back almost 25 years later in 2010 on the way through to Amarillo and wow, things have changed. Congestion, traffic, sprawl. El Paso is merging west into Las Cruces. Moving east towards Indian Cliffs Ranch (great steaks at the Indian Cliffs Cattlemans Ranch). Not the sleepy little city anymore. I will have some traveling time in August and I might take my JGC through El Paso again. I was a single army officer back then. Footloose and fancy free. Now I am a married old fart seeing it with nostalgia over those miserable, desperate dates back so long ago. If you are old enough to remember, I used to hang out at the Bombay Bay Bicycle Club right east of the downtown Spagheti Bowl off the interstate, then it was Dallas--the honky tonk club on the east side around Zaragosa or was it Lee Trevino???--don't think it exists anymore. And spent lots of money at Springfires, the comedy trio--they had their own club restaurant off Montana I think. Now they play at the Great American Steak House in Vinton, I think.

Yeah, El Paso is not soo little anymore compare to those times. I came from Dallas in 2006 and it was small even back them but now is getting to be medium size. Some of those places are still around just rename. Cattlemans Ranch still one of the best steaks around. Dallas is by lee trevino but it has some other name now. the comedy place is a nice place to chill for a good night of fun. give me a shout when your coming to town, i should have my JGC by next month, we can go out and jeep-them. hehehe
