One of the first things I did was to put one of these in with the spare tire.

Yup; me too. I got ALL the contents of my small dufflebag of car stuff--towstrap, jumpercables, 4-way lugwrench, some drivers and other small tools, a quart of oil, trashbags, etc. in the 2 storage bins and around the front of the spare tire. Those bins are a great idea, Jeep! I like the hold-up strap, too.

If I get more serious about 4-wheeling, I might remove the now-1-1/2"-too-small sparetire and build a compartmentalized storagebin in that cavity. I could even get my aluminum-frame floorjack in there, along with a can of flat-tire-fixer for local use.

Took the rubber cover off the Jeep and put it on the wife's Toyota RAV (she gets a chuckle out of that) and put in the tow strap d-link.

Keeps the 'parking by braille' ass-clowns off my bumper.

I think the beaver step would do better for that one.

Re: Cool Useful Ideas for 2" hitch?

A lot of different ideas lol... we need some links where to buy when you guys post, lol... But the best is the stripper pole

I put my '14 with a Hemi V8 hitch to great use up to it's limits... I use it to carry a bike rack and 2-3 mountain bikes or road bikes, lol....
