Question Cool Useful Ideas for 2" hitch?

Of course I'm going to be buying a ball hitch and a winch receiver & shackle. But what are some other useful things? In the past I've seen steps, bike rack, cargo carrier, etc...

Re: Cool Useful Ideas for 2" hitch?

I do have a bike rack, but it rarely gets used...the adults in the family don't have bikes and the kids don't tend to want to ride. We spend all our free time with our horses. I do want to get a cargo carrier at some point. I think that would be useful for times when the need is smaller than the desire to hook up the utility trailer. If you decide to carry things "up top", there are handy steps that can insert into a receiver hitch to help boost you up to be able to reach things from the rear.

For the person who has everything, there is always, um...this...

Re: Cool Useful Ideas for 2" hitch?

I leave the winch receiver in all the time without the shackle to protect my Jeep from other bad parallel parkers. If they decided to "bump" my jeep they get a hole in the front of their car. I think its fair you damage my Jeep your car gets damaged too.

My 2 5/16" ball on a heavy cast mount serves the same essential function...

Lol, nice stripper pole.

This looks like it would be multi purpose. Smittybilt Beaver step. And if someone rear-ends you, they get harpooned! Though the reviews say it rattles a lot.

Re: Cool Useful Ideas for 2" hitch?

I ordered a hitch just for my bike rack (Kuat) and I also have an aluminum carrier that I've used to carry excess gear. Other than that, it's there just in case. I've never towed anything.

for those of us in colder climates. I am really considering this one as I have a dreadfully long driveway.
