Coolant low?

Is it me or is it normal to have my coolant level right at the add line in the coolant tank? I happen to look over the tank when I was refilling my windshield wiper fluid and saw the orange fluid at the add line.

I have a 2012 WK2 v8.

Re: Coolant low?

I keep mine at the full mark. I only check it when hot. I also have a 2012 w/5.7. So far I have had to add about a pint or so. Remember to use only HOAT coolant. The only aftermarket coolant that meets this requirement is Zerex. I use Mopar brand and its not cheap. Do not use the coolant that claims to be OK for all systems.

I had the same issue before. When I took it to the dealer, it was my coolant pump leaking coolant. It was replaced under warranty. I suggest you see your local dealer

Re: Coolant low?

Thanks all. I wouldn't think coolant would be used that much in the 2years I've own this Jeep. Hopefully their isn't a leak too. I plan on bring in my Jeep for service and I'll bring this up.

Re: Coolant low?

My coolant was low every time the water pump was bad. Now on my 3rd water pump, never saw any leaks under the car. Just regular oil change and they would drop the news about the water pump. I have a '12 Hemi as well. Oh the water pump saga. Hopefully for you it is something else.

Ditto!
I usually look around my vehicles as I walk up to them, (last summer) noticed fluid under the Jeep on an hot day, immediately thought A/C condensation, but reached under with my finger to check. That ain't water!

Drove right over to the dealer, they had the water pump replaced in less than an hour.

Now that's service!
