Couple Question re: 12 Overland

I was looking over the inside of my Overland today and had 2 questions.
I noticed that the front door interior pull handles are illuminated along with the cup holders in the front doors when the exterior lights are on. The back doors aren't lit in the same locations. Is that normal?

Also in the following video, at the 1:00 mark, they show a black cover being placed over the top of the jack before using it to raise the vehicle. All I have is the jack, lug handle and extension handle. Is my car miising the cover? Thanks

Re: Couple Question re: 12 Overland

Well, it is too light out now to answer the first question, but I did open up the back. The cap is not on the jack. It is in the foam to the left of the jack.

No lights in back seats.

Re: Couple Question re: 12 Overland

The rear door pockets are not illuminated, just the fronts. And my 11`does have the piece they are putting over the jack. It`s sitting in the foam piece that holds the jack etc - just below and to the left.

Re: Couple Question re: 12 Overland

In comparing the '11 owners manual and the '12 manual. The '11 refers to the cap. The '12 doesn't. I assume that they possibly changed the jack for '12 and thus the cap is no longer required. Can anyone verify that?

Re: Couple Question re: 12 Overland

My 2011 Overland does not illuminate the rear doors and does have the jack cap.

Re: Couple Question re: 12 Overland

The jack for the 2012 is most likely exactly the same as the 2011 jack. Jeep apparently has already begun the decontenting process as they have done in all previous Grand Cherokee editions. The part # from the 2011 PDF parts list for the protective cap is 68058614AB. For those of you who want to protect the frame of your new WK2 while jacking.
