Re: CRD Engine Number Location....Anyone?
Ok, I'm now all sorted, registered and legal!
I called Singleton this morning and they just referred me to Jeep.
I called Suttons and spoke to a service tech and he directed me to look on the "passenger" under side of the engine.
I moseyed on out, started the engine hit quadra lift up, slid under the car and nothing on the passenger side of the engine! Armed with common sense I then slid over to the "driver" under side of the engine and half way up the side of the engine where the block meets the bellhousing I found the engine number.
Took it to Queensland Transport, this time got another lady to process my rego and this one was clever. She asked me to slide under the car and read out the number, which I did (I had already memorised it by this stage)
So, I'm all set, stamp duty and rego paid!
To all CRD owners, take note of engine # location. Don't expect Jeep Australia to know this basic stuff, the tech I spoke to said their records on the WK2 are still incomplete!
