Silly man, asking a Jeeper why they want "info"....

Because they can get it of course! If it takes a little effort, all the better...just another reason to tinker.

Yep, my 2013 shows ECO in the EVIC display when it's in Drive.

Just to ensure understanding....

ECO mode does not equal MDS activation. It definitely promotes it more than Sport mode but MDS activates when its conditions are met. ECO mode is not one of them.

The conditions include but are not limited to:

In general...steady speed, low acceleration and shallow grade climbing conditions

...speeds from around 20 mph to 80 mph (higher reported)
...more active at highway speeds and on level ground
...engine operating temperature must be at least 130 degrees
...oil pressure above 45 psi
...transmission must be in 5th gear at speeds above 35-40 mph

Re: Cylinder deactivation mode

Thanksv14SH butů.mine operates as I described it. Note, mine has no Sport Mode as it's 2WD. Yes, the road terrain affects it as you described and when the terrain is 'right', it goes into ECO and the MDS activates the 4 cylinder mode. It's very obvious😊.

It does because your operating conditions are as described above not because it was/is in Eco mode. Basically, MDS activates when power is not being used.
