Re: daily driver mpg on 3.6 ?

Is this a manual test ; miles traveled between fill-ups devided by gallons needed to fill up again ?

It basically is that but in the form of an app on my phone.

I'm averaging 17 mpg after 700 miles of 95% city driving on my '14 Overland V6.

Re: daily driver mpg on 3.6 ?

Bump as I forgot to mention that I am in Denver, so the numbers I am getting are probably lower than those who are at sea level.

Last fill up was 19.81mpg

Re: daily driver mpg on 3.6 ?

Shouldn't make a difference at level cruise, throttle may be open further but charge density will be the same so injector puse width should not change much. Of course if little of your cruise is level but AFAIR Denver is on a high plain in front of the Rockies & pretty flat in three directions.

In fact at 5,000 feet the air density is about 13% less than at Sea Level so there should be less drag at speed. Would be interesting to find out but you need an OBD-II scanner to get the actual instant MPG.

Re: daily driver mpg on 3.6 ?

My new 2013 GC, less then 500Kms/300 miles, 3.6 5sp
When I can remember, I have it in sport mode most of the time!

City: Evic shows 15.7 MPG (us) / Actual 16.1 MPG (us)
or 14.9 Litres per 100kms / 14.6 Litres per 100kms

Hwy: Evic shows 21.3 MPG (us) Actual N/A
or 11.0 litres per 100 kms

Re: daily driver mpg on 3.6 ?

EVIC is usually about 1 mpg optomistic for me. Any readings depend on driving and highway speed. The trade is time vs money.

Re: daily driver mpg on 3.6 ?

I have 480 miles, getting 20.5 mpg on a 18 mile each way commute which is 16 city and 2 highway. Was getting 14 - 15 in my Ram 1500.

I do keep it in Eco mode tho - commuter traffic in the am and pm

Re: daily driver mpg on 3.6 ?

I am getting 17-18 city and 22-23 highway depending on driving style. I tend to run 75-80 on the highway to get these figures...

Re: daily driver mpg on 3.6 ?

I am getting 16.8 mpg (computer) with 70% city driving. I only have about 600 miles on a heavier 2014 Overland with ORA2 and ATG. I switch between D(rive) and S(port) but I am now playing with turning off Eco mode. I hate that dead spot from 2nd to 4th gear from a dead stop (especially up hill).

I hope mileage gets a bit better after the engine loosens up a bit.

(Kansas/Missouri area with lots of hills.)
