I've been trying to decide on colors also.
My first choice was Silver since it looks good day or night and is low maintenance here in SoCal. However after seeing a WK2 in Silver, I wasn't sure I liked it. It didn't look bad, but it didn't look as good as I hoped.
My second choice was Mineral Gray. I figured it would be half way between Silver and Dark Charcoal. Now, the first time I saw a Mineral Gray WK2 in person, I was not impressed at all. The color looked "flat" and had no "pop" to it. Battleship Gray would be a good description.
Then I drove by another dealership and saw a beautiful WK2! It looked like a slightly darker Silver or a light Charcoal. I walked up to it and...
it was MINERAL GRAY!
I was shocked, none of the Mineral Gray Jeeps I'd seen looked this good. I went back during the day to double check and it still looked awesome. The window sticker had the color listed as: "Mineral Gray Metallic Clear Coat
So I'm trying to figure out why this color can looks so good
or so bland
. I've been told it might have something to do with the type of Clearcoat used.
Here are some pics of the great looking WK2 I saw (the first 3 are daytime, the last 2 are night shots
