From my understanding the GC leather is coated, so when you're applying products its onto the coating not directly onto the leather.

I would also be hesitant to apply it to straight leather, by most leather in cars today come coated so traditonal leather cleaner/conditioner is not effective.

Re: Dash temp after sitting in the sun

First day with the sun shade in the GC and it has made a significant difference. I ordered mine from Weathertech. It's a great fit and rides flush with the windshield unless you have something affixed to it as I do with my EZ Pass. My experiences with these shades in the past is that they don't always fit so nice so I've not used one in some years. I'm quite pleased with the product and the results, I'd certainly recommend giving this one consideration if you are in the market.

Re: Dash temp after sitting in the sun

I also suggest 303. Been using it since I picked her up a year ago. I didn't know it could be used on the wheels as a previous poster suggested.

The amount of heat that the dash reaches while sitting in the sun is amazing. There is plenty of xenon and sun testing done for these things that there should be no immediate issues with having that much direct sunlight. Of course you should get a window visor and I would also suggest the WeatherTech one as mentioned above.

Re: Dash temp after sitting in the sun

It's the UV that really deteriorates things.

I almost always crack my windows in the summer. Makes a huge difference and will go to great trouble to find shade when possible. Even if it means getting crap falling from trees.

Re: Dash temp after sitting in the sun

I've been a sun shade user for a long time over multiple vehicles. We can never underestimate the power of the sun to heat up an enclosed space like our vehicles!
