Congrats on the CRD, and your patience.
If you have time and the inclination, let us know your thoughts on the engine/capabilities.

That's great to hear! I ordered a summit SFU with Koons. Unfortunately they messed up my order and out the wrong color and I didn't come across it until about 2 weeks after it went D1. Now they have tried reordering what I originally requested on my order. Looks like it's going to be a long wait for me. I hope to get it at least before Christmas. What did you trade in btw? I have a 2007 wk Laredo w/ 49k miles on it I'm going to look into trading. I think kbb would actually leave me breaking even so I'm not sure if it's worth it. Was it hard getting them to accept the kbb value?

Re: DC metro area group buy

I traded a 2011 Overland Hemi with 37k. They actually offered a little more than KBB but not much. Definitely take it to carmax or another dealer to see what they may give you and go from there. It was still a little lower than what I was expecting.

Review of the CRD to come soon in the owners thread but to sum it up, it is a fantastic machine.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Just picked up my SFU from Koons... Nader was fantastic. Had to listen to the spiel from the "service representative" about paint sealants and other sundries and then had to listen to the finance lady trying to hard sell me the extended warranty, service plan, etc. I said "No, thanks" about 40 times to each of them. They are persistent but can be overcome. LOL

The drive home was fantastic... got to know my wonderful new truck over four hours of highway time. Have some learning to do on the uconnect I think but mostly it was pretty intuitive. iphone paired up no problem and the stereo rocks.

The voice recognition for the nav kept hearing "Kennet Township" instead of "Cranberry Township" which was pretty annoying.

The chuckle of the diesel at idle is apparent but not loudly so when you are standing outside the truck but is very hard to hear inside... the growl under strong acceleration sounds wonderful. He pulls STRONG when you get into it.

Going to go grab a beer and relax. 4 hours driving down in a Mazda six followed by 2 hours in the dealer saying no thanks and then another 4 hours driving home...

Congrats Chiv! Sounds like the same experience I had, however, they let up on the extras quicker for me.

Also, we need pictures!

Congrats... It's been a long wait eh? I noticed you liked the sound of the non-summit stereo. Is it really good? Because a lot of people have been negative about the non HK audio quality.

Chiv, did you trade in the Mazda? If so, what kind of deal did they give you? I'm debating about what to do with my Wrangler when I drive it down.

Congrats on the new truck!

The 9 speaker Alpine is more than adequate unless you're looking for an actual symphony in your vehicle. The Summit's 19 speaker HK system is really a high quality system that many audiophiles will dig.

Many of the comments I've seen about the quality of the Alpine sound has more to do with the significant amount of compression of the signal that SiriusXM puts out, not the radio/speakers themselves. If you can take the radio for a test drive, bring an iPod or smart phone along with you and switch b/w listening to your own music and Sirius -- there is a distinct improvement with your own device. Or, just listen to an HD radio station vs a normal signal -- far more clear/crisp with the HD signal.

One thing I do agree with that is a limitation of the Alpine is the 3 band equalizer, though it was far from a deal breaker to me.

Re: DC metro area group buy

The Mazda was a rental from Enterprise... the drop off spot is right at the jeep dealer. Easy peasy. Sold my Acura back in Sept and have been freezing on my motorcycle since then until now!!

The stereo is really nice... great bass, nice crisp highs, clear mids, plenty of volume, sounds best from a digital source. I was rocking Sirius and my iphone tunes all the way home but havent tried HD radio yet. It sounds a LOT better than the stereo that was in my Acura TL.
