Pity the Russians don't allow Americans to adopt from Russia anymore. Politics and foreign policy games drive me nuts sometimes.

No offense, Zhenya.

Yes, it's sad, muzhik...but human beings have the supreme ability to screw up so many good things. Of course that's a topic for somewhere else, but as an adoptive parent I appreciate your comment.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Picked up my new GC last night through the group buy. I want to thank all of you for your advice and insight. The fact that many of you who have bought from out of town and have not had any issues with local dealers was just what I needed to hear. My situation with the group buy was a little different than the rest of you. I started my quest for purchasing the GC about 2 days before the end of the year for tax purposes. I had called Koons to speak with Nador but apparently the sales guy that I got connected to "worked" through him. I guess he spoke to Nador because after the salesman quoted me a price that was not the GB price, I said to go back and ask again. He then came back with the correct price. I put down a deposit over the phone on a GC to hold it on New Years Eve but backed out at the last minute. Too much pressure to spend 50K like that and under the gun for tax purposes. That was that. Then my Pilot really started acting up and the choice was to spend 4k on it or buy new. So, I started doing the whole dance again trying to buy local until Jason Gingras from Koons called me. He said he was the internet sales manager and was following up on my prior salesman's contacts. He was no longer with Koons. I did the deal through Jason as everything was "approved" by Nador. Jason was fantastic to work with, honest, worked with integrity and went out of his way to accommodate me. Everyone at Koons was great to deal with and it all went smoothly. I asked Jason if I was able to put his name on this forum as I didn't know if there was something special going on with Nador and he said it was no problem to work with him also. I wanted it cleared with Nador which it was. The GC was great to drive home and also averaged 30mpg. I bought a 5/100 warranty as I would blow through the manufactures warranty in a 1-1/2 yrs. and got it at the group price of $1475. As a side note, we all have read about all kinds of gremlins with this truck and I did have my apprehensions. On the drive home, the music kept cutting out as if all the speakers stopped working except for the front center. I then smiled, cussed a little bit and then though, well, I'm joining the ranks of others. Then, in my mind, proceeded to try to figure out how to fix it. Loose connection, bad antennae, how do I rip the dash apart, etc. Then, figured it out. I was using the navi to find my way back home and had lowered the volume of the voice prompts. Since I had turned up the volume on the radio, the prompts could not be heard but it would still cut out the speakers to tell me the next step. That was a great moment! Good luck to you future GC owners. By the way, the manager said they had sold about 100 or so trucks with the program and has been great but would not be doing it in 2015MY.

Point taken, Jim. I shouldn't have jumped on the off-topic tangent.

Still never received a reply to my inquiry about the group buy extending to '15 models. I'm going to assume it doesn't/won't. If folks want to take advantage of this, do it soon!

I'll probably have to miss out, as we'll need to buy a house before taking the credit rating hit associated with a new car payment.
