The discount is for any model and it doesn't have to be on the lot. A lot of us have done factory orders.

Does it have to be a purchase or can it be a lease as well?

I'm looking to purchase a '14 JGC Overland in the next 1.5 months and finding this group buy was really incredible. Kuddos to BigWave and to others who made this happen.
I picked mine up back in August and live in PA, they gave me a paper temp tag for 30 days. They handled the registration for PA, it did take almost three months to get my perm tag from them. I just had to email the finance guy when the temp tag expired and they emailed me a new 30 day temp tag. Had to do that three times before I got my perm tag.

Re: DC metro area group buy

I just spoke to Nader on the phone. I was told if it's a lease it needs to be for a vehicle that is currently on the lot and that he's pretty sure the IDL Bonus cash offering couldn't be used with their 7% under invoice discount, though he was going to confirm that with his manager. That sound right?

Same thing he told me about leasing. I had them price a car in stock - an overland - the price was amazing - $39,500 (or so) but the lease price was $689 per month. On the other hand - my local leasing company found me a Limited with Lux 2, navi and 20" wheels for $475 per month. I dont know the exact price of the car, but for sure its more that $41,000.

Nader also priced out a lease on a limited with lux2, navi, 20" rims and diesel and it came out to be $669. So for some reason, their lease prices are no where close to their sales prices.

Strange, I leased my Overland from Koons back in August they gave me the 7% plus incentives, the lease was based off of around $36,500 and my payment is 357.00 for 39 months this also includes the 9% PA lease tax which is about $30 a month. Not sure why they would quote over $300 more a month for a few thousand more in the selling price.

You can go to Jeeps website and build your Jeep and it will give you a lease price from Chrysler Capitol. I just built an Overland with tech package with a lease price of $40,185 after I adjusted for the Koons discount and it's showing me a 36 month 10,000 miles a year for $385. I would question why Jeep's Site is quoting $385 a month for $40,185 and Koons is quoting $689 for $39,500

I believe some GB participants have leased a vehicle they ordered from the factory.

I called and spoke with Nader this afternoon about factory ordering a GC Altitude. He advised me the GB discount would apply only for purchasing the factory order. The discount would be applicable towards leasing a vehicle they already had on the lot. He stated the reason for this was because the residual value and other leasing factors vary on a seemingly day to day basis.

Perhaps it's just that he can't give a leasing quote on factory ordered vehicles because of the day to day changes with the leasing factors. I would think once it's actually on the lot you should be able to lease and still get the GB discount. Or i'm just totally not understanding something here.

What he is saying makes sense. Leasing factors change all the time, so it would be hard to give a set monthly payment on vehicle that may not be delivered for two months. They can still give you the discount but since leasing factors change the payment would change. So if he had a Jeep on the lot today he knows exactly what the residual and money factor would be at the time the lease is being made, forward two months for a factory order and if the leasing factors change it would change the monthly payments. Basically it comes down to the residual and money factor. The price of the Jeep would still be the same.
