PM Sent.

The manufacturer discount coupons (like military) will work. I used one for military and got an extra $500 off. Treadlightly and affiliate pricing will NOT stack on the current deal though.

Placed order with Nader today. Very easy, and Nader is a true professional. I'll update when the vehicle gets in.

Yep - I had checked on if affiliate codes stacked and they don't. But military and the magic $500 postcards do.

Re: DC metro area group buy

MY EXPERIENCE REPORT (I hope you find this helpful):

In DC now. Nader is great --- a real gentleman and very conscientious. I had one request - no front license plate bracket (no holes in front bumper) and he followed through with that and I am thankful. I know the dealer prep people in states with front license plates like VA automatically install them so I realize it could have slipped through and gotten installed. So a big THANK YOU to Nader for being so conscientious about that and following through with that request. I'm sure us forum people are some of the...how do I say it...more "detail oriented" people so just having one request may have been a relief!!! LOL

I flew into Dulles airport arriving around 4 pm and was expecting that I'd just jump into a taxi to the dealership for the 13 miles, but Nader was able to pick me up. I realize he can't always pick people up depending on what is going on at the dealership so that again was nice of him.

My ordered 2014 Summit was prepped nice and clean (with the rear license plate bumpers installed that so many have missing LOL) and sitting out front. Went over the order with Nader then did a quick inspection and test drive. All was great. Nader even held the keys when it arrived so no rouge salesperson would take it out for a test drive....I appreciate it. The gas tank was even filled...wow, now that is nice. The last dealership that I ordered from didn't do that and it only had the 7 gallons or whatever from the factory. So for that, and the above, Nader and Koons Jeep get an A+.

Was then handed off to the finance guy for all the paperwork signing. I decided to take advantage of the Jeep "free money" 0% for 36 months --- earning just 1% in an online account will earn me about $800 (say $500-$600 after taxes) over the 36 months so was worth doing instead of writing a check. Of course the finance guy went through the dozen or so add-on options from extended warranties, to maintenance plans, to tire protection to ... well ... a lot of things. That's to be expected and is part of all dealerships. I respectfully declined - LOL. He was a good sport about it (not high pressure, but thorough with a bit of salesmanship) even if a tad disappointed, a nice guy and he's just doing his job. As expected, this part took the longest. Once arriving at the dealership, was there under 2 hours, not bad.

Would I recommend Koons Jeep and Nader --- 1000% YES!!!

By the way, the new 2014 Summit is very noticeably improved over the 2011 so I am happy with my decision to get a 2014... If you're sitting on the fence, it's worth stepping up to a 2014.

Great review.

Also, I was there earlier today, although for service as my Jeep is problematic to say the least, and I think I saw yours. Was it sitting out in front on the left side of the dealership (if viewed from the road)? When I was there, there was a red Summit parked in front of it, but I realize that could have been moved.

Too funny....YES, that was exactly it! The GC in front had a license plate bracket installed and my White GC directly behind it didn't. I got to the dealership just after 5 pm. It's a small world....way too funny!!!

Re: DC metro area group buy

My DW is already enjoying our GC Summit, but now I want a JK to play in the woods with. Will this DC group buy apply to a JK Unlimited as well. I looked a Koons website and they have one in stock that will work and I will be in DC later this month. Please PM me the details and contact information and I will take it from there. Thanks in advance.

The GB does apply to JKs. Take a look at post #1518 on this thread for the details.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Wow, glad I found this! I test drove an Overland the other day absolutely loved it!!! I was also looking at the Ford Escape/Edge, Chevy Equinox, and BMW X1.

That said, I posted in the general ordering thread, but I'll post here too.

I read that Koons doesn't really do leasing that well, which is what I was looking at. I'm hoping I can use the deal to find a local dealer that will match it, but I highly doubt it.

Bottom line is, I'm looking for a Limited 4x4 v6, with the uConnect 8.4 (basic). Any idea what the OTD price on this vehicle would be?

MSRP - $39,685 (destination and 8.4" included)
Invoice - $38,395 ($36,764) + $995 destination + $441 8.4" option x 0.93 + $500 fee = $36,026

Is that correct? I'm also assuming with a tax of 6.5% = $2,342 + ~$50 for Title/License, so I'm figuring OTD = ~$38,418

Does that sound right?

There's a similar one (wrong interior color and it has the premium uConnect and Sunroof) on the website listed as $36,301 as the "WOW" price.

http://www.koonschryslerdodgejeepram...8e052b7dce.htm

Just a real quick look at Navy Fed, they have a rate listed at 1.99% for 72 months (my credit should be above 700), which would make the payments ~$413/month if I was able to put $10k down. I'm really thinking my lease payment would probably be ~$350-380/month...so it looks like buying might actually be really close.

What do you guys think? I bought my first car outright, so I've never had a car payment and have no idea about leasing vs. buying.

ETA : BigWave I sent you a PM requesting more information.

Dealership's WOW price reflects all available discounts (factory rebates, military, etc) including many which not all buyers will be eligible for. If they do, it is a great price. Take a look at the fine print on the site, they do clearly state/discuss what's all included.

This GB includes many who've leased and if I recall many were satisfied but will leave it to them to describe their experiences -- though many posts will already include their thoughts.

Lease or buy outright, tell the dealership what rate you got and often they'll beat it -- they beat my PenFed rate for purchase by a good %.

Your equation is mostly correct. There is no % off from their $499 processing fee. In Chivvalry's equation the ".93" is the "7%" discount.
