Re: DC metro area group buy

Anyone know if Nader/Koons would discuss trade over the phone or via e-mail? I understand they wouldn't be able to give me an exact number until they had the opportunity to inspect the car in person. However, could they possibly give me an estimate or a range to expect if I give them my VIN and mileage? I've been trying to sell my car locally for almost a month now and haven't had much interest. The local Jeep dealership offered me lower than I was expecting for trade in so I'm assuming Koons would be the same (if not lower since many on here said Koons is low for trades). I'm just getting very anxious to pull the trigger on the Jeep since the order banks are now closed for MY14 and this deal isn't carrying into MY15 as far as I know. Plus Koons happens to have the exact color/configuration I want on their lot according to their website which isn't helping!

Go to one of those carmax type places and get a sale quote from them for your car. I think you will be unpleasantly surprised at what you can get. Koons is not negotiating too hard on trades as the discount on the jeep is so deep they have no room.

You are probably better off still trying to sell yourself. Adjust your price expectations based on the carmax quote and dont rely too much on KBB.

Re: DC metro area group buy

I listed my 2011 on AutoTrader which I have always had good results with .... i've sold at least six vehicles on autotrader and all but one the first person to see it, bought it. The buyers on auto trader usually know what they want and do there research. My 2011 took a bit longer to sell than expected (guess I shoulda pulled the trigger 3+ months ago or so at the height of the winter!). About a month into the listing I suddenly got three people showing strong interest via phone and email and it sold to the first person that came. The price I got was below KBB which was surprising but still was trade-in price + sales tax savings + $2,600 .... so got $2,600 more by selling myself (that's net of cost to list on autotrader).

I did get a trade in quote from Koons. Did it via email and referenced to my ad for the 28 photos (don't know if they even look at that or not). You almost always do better by selling yourself with any dealer anyways. Hope that helps.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Thanks for the suggestions. I've always had good luck selling online as well. Right now, I have it listed on Autotrader, Craigslist, and 2 forums. It's been just under a month since I first listed it so hopefully I'll get it sold soon. I'm going to try a CarMax type place too and see what they say. Hopefully I'll be behind the wheel of a JGC soon!

Drove it home last night. Did a regen as soon as I pulled off the lot. Couldn't be happier with the whole process and of course the jeep. Joey handled my deal (their mistake, that's the salesman I got assigned. But a real class act anyways.)

Averaged 28 mpg on the way home over 373 miles according to the EVIC. Cruise at 73-75. Nothing like DC-syracuse on a little more than half a tank.

Brought my wifes 2011 elantra using truecar, was very easy as the dealer did honor the price...I looked up naders info online and emailed him..the group buy is about 1k cheaper then the lowest Truecar price..

Re: DC metro area group buy

Exhaust system regeneration means that It is cleaning the DPF filter that diesels have to meet emission requirement. More fuel is injected to raise exhaust temps "burning off" the stuff on the filter.

Because of the high exhaust temps they make you drive at highway speed to keep things as cool as possible.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Now that order banks are closed for 2014 models, will the DC group buy continue? I would love to take advantage of the great deal that I have been reading about, if that's possible. e.g., would inventory currently on the floor at Koons be eligible for the group buy?

Deal is good as long as they 2014 Grand Cherokees and Wranglers are being produced at their respective factories. (Keep up the great work Marlon)
