Invoice pricing is invoice pricing, regardless of the dealer.

Also bear in mind there are some additional rebates out there right now...I expect that I will get those in addition to the group buy pricing. I think there's $1,000 loyalty, $1,000 conquest and I'm eligible for another $500 from an association I belong to on any Chrysler vehicle. So I should get the group buy price less $1,500...

You should be able to use the pricing on any configuration. Nader did tell me that the banks are closed for 2014, I intend to buy off the lot.

You may be in luck. The one I ordered and gave up on exactly matches what you mentioned above - Limited 4x4 Diesel, ORA II, Lux II. I also added the engine block heater and Nav. True blue outside, black on the inside. Tell Nader you want it!!

Good looking out wiz but I personally like the red one. Where do I find out about the rebates you guys are talking about? I thought the only one I could tack on is military.

Not sure what others have mentioned, but I was able to take advantage of Jeep's "conquest" rebate. Essentially I was switching from a qualified competitor's (Subaru in my case) lease to a Jeep. If you do that w/in a certain time frame and have proof (I used my original lease contract along with my registration from the Subaru) Jeep will give you a grand back. I found out about that rebate on here somewhere and asked Nader about it. I was unable to find anything on Jeep's web site, though I honestly didn't spend much time looking.

Red is another good choice, one of my top 3 or 4 JGC colors. Especially nice is that it's not one of Jeep's 50 shades of gray!

Good luck with your search and purchase!

Re: DC metro area group buy

I can confirm that there are two separate LEASE rebates right now, each $1,000. One for returning Jeep lessees, and one for conquest Jeep lessees. These are only for leases though.

Chrysler also has a bunch of agreements with associations for small $500 rebates all the time. There are military rebates, college graduate rebates, I'm a Realtor so as a member of the National Association of Realtors I also get a $500 rebate on any Chrysler product at any time. So, if I lease which is what I'm leaning towards I get an additional $1,500 in rebates on top of the group buy price.

Hey Wiz, so you leased I take it? If you have that info do you mind sharing the residual, money factor, and the associated costs (acquisition fee, etc)? From what I've found online it looks like the base Chrysler Capital lease on an Overland is 50% residual and a .00005 money factor...which is almost free money...

Actually I financed the Overland so I can't help you with any lease info. - I went 5 years @ 1.5%. I was leasing the Subie.

Re: DC metro area group buy

So they gave you the rebate even on the finance? Thats good to know, I thought it was just lease cash.

Taking the 2011 to Carmax today for a valuation, have an offer for it from Darcars too, so I'll be ready there.

That's correct, I still got the conquest $1,000 rebate!

A few recent posts in this thread report that Nader (the DC Group buy primary contact at Koons) has indicated that Koons is no longer taking orders for 2014 models, but will continue this group deal for 2015 model orders, at least initially. e.g.,

Re: DC metro area group buy

Pullled the trigger with Nader today! We're now the proud owners of a 2014 Overland with ATP, Maximum Steel with the indigo/brown interior. Love the truck, very happy we bit the bullet and made the upgrade.

NOW...to my experience with the process at Koons. As some of you remember, I had a not so great experience with Koons back before we got the 2011. After all the great things everybody said I figured I would give them another shot.

The verdict? I'm 70% happy. First let me say that Nader is great, 100% happy with him. The group buy pricing is great, if you're going to pay cash or finance outside of the dealer (or even finance inside the dealer) you cannot beat it. The issues came when it came time to deal with the trade and to deal with the lease. I had two offers in writing on the trade one from a Jeep dealer, one from carmax. Koons was over 10% below those offers. I was able to get them up somewhat, but not all the way. I was able to get them up enough to where the tax benefit of trading it to them made it just about break even vs selling it to Carmax...but it wasn't easy.

Second issue was the lease. Money factors offered were not at all what are available on the internet insofar as what the base rates from Chrysler are currently...and any attempt to get them to honor the base Chrysler money factor was a non-starter, despite having printouts from web sources in writing...and any attempt to get them to show me the money factor they were offering me in writing in the sheet from Chrysler was denied. That to me is the most frustrating thing...what reason would you have to refuse to show the customer what MF you are saying is printed out on the sheet from the bank other than because its not what you're offering the customer? Again...I've leased many times...and have been shown that binder many times.

We negotiated on these points for about 3 hours...and some of it was pretty heated. Total time spent at the dealer was about 4.5 hours.

So...in the end i did the deal because they had what I wanted and I liked Nader, but what I wound up with is a lease I could have gotten from any Jeep dealer because the special pricing in the group buy was eaten up by the inflated money factors and lower trade value. So I came out fine...but I do not have any kind of a special non-matchable deal on the lease.

So...leasers and traders beware...come armed with data and negotiate as good a deal on those points as you can...in fact we overheard one of the salespeople talking to another new car buyer just conversationally about how much more lucrative their used car sales are because they have a nice markup. I can attest that this is the case.

In the end though I'm happy, love the truck, didn't get screwed just don't have as good a deal as I was hoping to have...what I have in terms of lease payments is almost exactly what I was quoted from Darcars of Rockville...

Re: DC metro area group buy

Well, got 2 phone calls today and an email from Nader letting me know that the jeep finally arrived...phew!

Gonna pick it up this week and hopefully all will look ok when I look it over. Will post some pics once it's in my possession.
