Looking at past posts from members, trade in at Koons does not seem to be their strong suit when it comes to this GB deal. You will most likely get a better deal trying to sell private or going to a place like CarMax.

I drove mine back up to Cranberry Twp, PA and did a tire swap with a dealer I have done business with multiple times in the past. Got the Goodyear All Terrain Adventure in 265/65 r18. Thinking now I should have just gotten them in stock size for the slightly better MPG and more accurate speedo but love the tires otherwise. Very quiet on the highway and grip like talons off road.

I'm going to try the dealers in my area and if I do go to Virginia for the group buy I will also check out the CarMax near there. Unfortunately, there is no CarMax near me. The dealer where I do all my service likes to low ball everyone and doesn't really care about sales as much as they should.

Re: DC metro area group buy

You have the pricing right!

You're going to get killed on the trade. They listed mine for $27k and they only initially offered me $19,800 when other dealers offered $22k right off the bat. I was able to get them up to about $21k but that was the best I could do. Remember that I was leasing and they would, not give me the basic money factor, so that additional $1,200 I was able to get out of them for the trade was taken right back in the MF.

$4.5-5k profit is pretty good for the trade even if they had offered me $22k and they don't negotiate on their used cars either. It didn't even need to be washed to be sold. New tires. Full tank of gas. So they gave me the group buy with whatever profit they still make there, plus $6k on the trade, plus $1,500 or so on the lease. Good day for them.

I would get some quotes locally on the Jeep and for your trade from Carmax type places up there (I think a place called "Auto Lenders"?With your local numbers you can look at what Koons deal is overall and decide if it's worth it.

For me, even though I was getting screwed on the trade and screwed on the money factor, the group buy pricing was good enough that the deal was similar overall to what I could accomplish with another deal...so I did it anyways.

Re: DC metro area group buy

For those who have recently purchased via the DC group buy, were you offered Chrysler financing at 0%? Also, did anyone pay cash for all or part of the purchase? If so, did Koons accept a personal check?

Purchased on 3/1, received 0% for 36 months. Put some cash down (by personal check), but didn't have to.

Re: DC metro area group buy

^^^^^^^

I did the $500 down on credit card (2% cash back on my CC...always pay off CC in full each month) for the order. Then $5,000 on credit card (2% cash back...this is max what Koons would allow on CC...$100 tax free bucks is nice) then did the "free money" 0% for the remainder. Even if I keep the cash that I would have paid in a 1% online account, I'll save around $900 after taxes over the term on 1% income earned on that cash...so well worth doing the 0%.

Bought my GC from Koons about 2 weeks ago and got the 0% financing for 36 months with no money down. I brought a check but they said they didn't need it so it was literally a sign and drive for us.
Any time you can use someone else's money for free it's a no brainer!

I may be wrong but I just looked it Koons'website and some of the prices on the summits look lower than our 7% off invoice

The "WOW price" on their website includes ALL the current rebates and the chances that you'd qualify for ALL of the rebates at the same time is slim to none. Also, the "WOW price" does NOT include freight/destination charge. I think there's some fine print at the bottom of their website that mentions that. The 7% off group deal price includes everything except tax/title/tags and the $499 processing fee. It was straightforward, no hassle, and no surprises through the group deal.

Guys - I am looking at GC Summit with hemi and CD player which is 48540 + 3289 + 352 = 52181 * .93 = $48,528.33

Add 995 destination and it's $49,523.33 plus 499 = 50,022.33 and them ttl, right?

Are my numbers right?

I have a dealer here who is $50,062 (incl destination) plus 499.75 document fee = 50,561.75 then ttl

For under 500, I would probably buy local unless my
Numbers are wrong. They are saying there are no additional jeep rebates but they can get me 0% for 36 mos.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

{digression}

BreakOn', think very carefully about that CD player...it fills up nearly the entire center console storage area. Digital music and Bluetooth take up no physical space...
