Re: DC metro area group buy

Are all the 2015s equipped with the start/stop function for the engines to shut down at red lights?? Is it a seamless feel when those cylinders start back up?

Really? Where did you hear that? Not doubting, just curious because that's news to me.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Some of the 2014s I believe the later builds has the start stop function built into the engine where at a stop light the cylinders shut down like in a hybrid. My question is whether the 2015s will all have that function and how well does it work?? Maybe a few 2014 owners with it can chime in.

Re: DC metro area group buy

2014/2015 models do not shut off when stopped. The Hemi will sut down 4 cylinders at cruising speed to save gas.

You may be confusing the auto cruise functionality that brings the vehicle to a complete stop if necessary. That started mid-2014.

Indigo/Granite combo has been available for a while...see sig!

Re: DC metro area group buy

I just recently bought a 14 GC Overland with a MSRP of 47,585 (dest included) for 43,000 that is right about 9.5% off and I did get Chrysler's .9% finacing for 48 months
I did have to pay 179.00 for doc and licence fees and 7% IN sales tax
I could have gotten a slightly better deal (a hair over 10%) on a Limited that was in transit at another dealer but we like the Overland better.

I had a rough time trying to walk into a dealer to get a better deal, what worked for me was to use the internet and built a Jeep on their website then did a search from the website on Jeeps that matched what I wanted. I then did the Request Quote from everyone that we liked.
Most dealers did not even quote but wanted to have you come in and the others gave numbers that were typically 5% off. I just emailed them back and was up front telling them I was not looking for a deal that I could get at any dealer but was looking for a dealer that wanted to move cars and was willing to discount them to do so. I waited until each one gave me a quote and I counteroffered with slightly better than 10% off the MSRP of the vehicle they had in stock. I told them this was the best I would go most would not accept my offer but 2 did out of probably 12 dealers I contacted
I would not waste your time on a dealer that does not have the vehicle you want in stock or in transit, dealer trades always seam to hurt the best price you can get.

^^^^^^^

Glad you got a good deal.

With the DC buyers group, there is no hassle...which is nice. Also, it is 7% below INVOICE pricing, not MSRP, in case there was any confusion. With dealer fee it is really around 6% below invoice pricing.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Hey wiz..are you certain about that info?? I'm thinking I read that after a certain build date in 2014 that the start stop was offered. I'm also remembering it mentioned in previous threads here and how some members wished they had it or wanted it retrofitted..lol

Re: DC metro area group buy

can you give a estimate off the % of window sticker, I have to believe the invoice and window sticker % follow a similar curve.
Looking at a window sticker and gaging approx what the invoice would be, would make it much easier to have an idea what the vehicle would cost before negotiating with the dealer.

Yes, positive. You are confusing the ACC start/stop feature that brings the vehicle to a complete stop, then (if less than a few seconds pass) starts the vehicle moving again. That ACC start/stop was added sometime in the middle of the 2014 production cycle, some people call those with the feature "2014.5's" but that's never been an official name. This ACC feature has nothing to do with engine shut off. Engine shut off is most definitely NOT a feature on the JGCs at this point, and there's NO indication the 2015's will be any different.

See this thread for pricing on the 2014's. That should give you what you're looking for, as MSRP and invoice are both listed there.

Mine was 12.1% below MSRP + the dealer fee. Now there are apparently some cash back offers (there was a $1000 loyalty and $1000 HEMI - don't know if still in effect or not) which would have made it 15.67% below MSRP + dealer fee.

So, 12.1% - 7% = 5.1% MSRP to Invoice difference in my case.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Ok thanks, that helps I bought the V6 so I had no incentives except the financing.
I think when sharing these numbers, it helps the average buyer to know if he is in the ball park of a good deal.

How much were dealer fees?
