Re: DC metro area group buy

Yeah, this deal is great. To be honest, i never would have bought a 2014 without this deal. I would have just went 2013 or 2012 used but with the way this deal is structured and the high resale value of 12/13s, I'm literally spending about 6-7k more for a 2014 that is a pretty significant upgrade over the older one. It's almost a no brainer.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Good Afternoon Folks,

I've been creeping this forum for a few months. I cannot believe how active it is. I originally found this site when I was considering the purchase of a MY2013. Thank goodness for the internet.

I'm now
<s>interested in</s> obsessed with a 2014 (thanks to you all) and my better half is all for it as well!

This being my first post, I cannot send a PM. So, I'll detail my desired vehicle in the next post.

Re: DC metro area group buy

I'm interested in a 2014 True Blue Overland with a I-dunno-what-color-yet interior, V8, OR II and finally the Advanced Tech group.

I really have to say that the brown/frost interior is probably my favorite, but I don't want to end up asking people to remove their shoes before getting in. So, I'm reluctantly leaning towards the Indigo Blue.

While I'm in W. Mass, this deal seems outrageous. Traveling down and driving home sounds fun too!

Hopefully I can send BigWave a PM now!

Macoroni,

Lloyds mats sells many different colors of many different types of carpet mats that cover the carpet all of the way to the edges. Kind of pricey though. Lloyd custom fit automobile floor mats

ULTIMAT (The Original Custom Plush Mat)

Re: DC metro area group buy

I'm torn - ORAII or ORAI and towing? Or just towing? I will probably not go off road but ORAI is only $500 or so it seems silly not to get it. Honestly, I'm only thinking of ORAII for the Quadra lift - I've got young kids who would appreciate the lower park mode height. Seems silly, right? So then I thought I should get the Mopar exterior pack for the running boards. But those are available aftermarket for only $500, probably cheaper. Any feedback?

A coworker of ours is in the market after seeing our WK2. This still available? I haven't sifted through the 22 pages of this thread yet.

Yep, it's available while MY14s are still being built. PM me your email address and basic build specs.

Re: DC metro area group buy

That invoice - 7% is a great deal. I'm just wondering how the dealer does it and still makes money???

For example...Lets take a JGC that has a $41,103 invoice (including the $995 destination) and a MSRP of $43,190 (including $995 destination). The deal with the 7% off invoice comes to $38,225 (not including the $499 dealer fee).

Assuming dealer holdback is 3% of MSRP, which in this case is $1,266 ($43,190 - $995 = $42,195 multiplied by 3%) dealer cost on the JGC computes to $39,837 ($41,103 - $1,266).

If dealer cost is $39,837 and I buy this JGC at $38,225, is the dealer not taking a $1,612 loss?

Because I'm not in the car sales business and dont know any better...where does the dealer make money aside from that $499 dealer fee?

Re: DC metro area group buy

There are also Factory to Dealer incentives that are not public that the dealer is making money on. They also make money on the trade, financing, etc.

Isn't the most logical answer is that the destination/freight costs are included in the dealer invoice cost? If you look on Page 1 of the ordering thread, the MSRP and Destination base model costs are color coded differently from the invoice costs:
2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

This would effectively make the discount 4% (which is almost equal to the hold back amount) rather than 7%. Still a good deal but similar to what other dealers earlier in the thread were offering.

Mr.Koons didn't get 20+ dealerships by selling cars at a loss.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Everyone pays the $995 no matter what dealer you go to. In fact this deal is better than most as the $995 is included prior to the 7% discount so you get 7% off it as well...

I have no idea what the dealer is making off the deal... But I'm sure he's not losing money.
