Look at it this way, maybe they'll work out some of the bugs before yours is built lol. I love my '14, but the service guy at Koons told me straight up that I was their guinea pig. Mine was the first they'd had come into the shop...phone module for uconnect was tripping out.

Re: DC metro area group buy

My worry is that I'll get up to Koons after driving for 4 hours and have some paint issues or something. How would they handle that? I wouldn't be able to stay overnight and I wouldn't want to have to drive back some other day.

I'm curious about this myself as I too will be driving 4 hours south to Koons and would not want any issues whenever I pick up my truck from them. How would they handle it? Would any paint issues at pickup/purchase be covered under warranty that we could take the truck to any dealer in our local area. (Hence the con of purchasing in a group buy from a dealer several hours away from home)

Re: DC metro area group buy

I'm not sure how that would work. About the only thing I can tell you is that other than some disagreement yesterday on the uconnect, I've had nothing but stellar experiences with Koons service. They moved heaven, hell and earth to fix the rattle in the headliner in my '12, whereas the dealer I bought it from wouldn't even touch it.

I'd expect that if there's paint issues, they'd catch it during prep and let you know. Coming from out of state though, I dunno how it would work if you had to get it fixed at another dealer...I assume paint issues are covered under warranty.

Ordered my v8 limited today! Easy as pie and the numbers lined up to the penny what I had calculated myself.

Not sure how Jeep does this, but, Dodge, Nissan, Toyota, Chevy do not care where you bought the vehicle. As long as you are under warranty and can show when you purchased, it should be covered..... simply put, The manufacturer has the warranty, the dealer just sells them. About the only thing I would do is make sure to find a good quality dealer closer to you than the one where you purchased.

Case and point, I had a problem with the hood on my new car that I purchased at Dealership A. I brought the car to dealership B and asked if this would be a warranty issue and if they would be able to fix it since I do not care for the service at Dealership A. I was told no problem and let them know when I want the repair done and they will put me in the schedule. A couple weeks later, everything was completed and repainted..... Just signed and drove away.

Re: DC metro area group buy

My dealer says they will give me the best price in the Midwest!

I know they put "Midwest" in the e-mail, drumroll, ....... .... . ....... ......... .... because they can't even compete with this offer from Koons in D.C. If I was buying a 2014 I'd be going 1300 miles to D.C., but I'm looking at keeping my '12 or trading (very cheaply) for a '13.

Re: DC metro area group buy

I have been reading all the posts great advice and discussions for about a month now, I finally decided to send my first post. So please get on me if i am not doing correctly, I can already tell may be too long. Truly just let me know if i should make changes, I want to be on this site for some time.

After getting my wife a 2013 Black Wrangler Sahara in Aug. 2012, I have had a serious bug about getting my own jeep as well.

I'm looking for a 2014 JGC (in other than black - as was told that is her color), I have been looking at all the great discussions on this site. Was originally thinking of 1 or 2 year pre-owned, but with the prices you all did such a great job on negotiating on, seriously thinking of new through your purchase group, Live in Kansas City Missouri so thinking of flying out to get car.

Can you pm me with the pertinent information so i can seem if makes sense to participate? Would be nice if some dealer would do this here in midwest, but haven't seen anything truly come together like this at all.

I'm still trying to decide between the limited, overland and summit. Have been on sites reviewing the msrp and invoice for every option for every level. Of course made the fatal mistake of sitting in asummit at dealer today and probably shouldn't have. wow it was nice!!

would like to get pm with all needed information on the dc buyer group, So glad they will honor as long as made, though not as convenient from Kansas.

Thanks so Much!

Jeff

Not sure what info you need but here is some.
PM BigWave your email and then he will put you in touch with the contact at the dealership. Ax for pricing, it is (invoice+dest. Fee)-7% + $499 (dealer fee) +TT&R. Invoice pricing is as stated on page 1 if the info and ordering thread.

You can PM after the third post so post some more so you can PM BigWave. deal is good for as long as MY14 JGC is manufactured and has been extended to MY13 Wrangler also.
