I actually love Golden Corral buffets.

But I'm not your typical buffet-goer. Let's just say I'm not there for the scenery.

Re: DC metro area group buy

It definitely isn't advertised. I called Chrysler directly today and was put through to the incentives department. I was actually trying to get the $500 coupon that some people seem to get when they request a brochure. While I didn't show up in their system for that, the person said that there is a $1000 rebate for any competitors lease (and no trade in required). I specifically asked about my Toyota and he said it qualified. I then called the dealer I was working with to ask them (and didn't mention I talked to Chrysler) and they confirmed that it is a current rebate and that my Toyota qualified. Granted, I haven't signed on the dotted line yet, but plan to, and will confirm it worked once I do.

Re: DC metro area group buy

I don't think this guy believes me... He's flabbergasted at the deal and can't seem to comprehend it as reality. Told him it's simple... invoice -7% + $499 dealer fee and TTL. Not too hard to understand. LOL

"The only thing I can see is, you pay invoice cost ..........Then when you get to PA you pay your 6% sales tax and plate fees, that adds up to about 7% Under Invoice......Your best price from me, will be the Supplier Price you get from your employer, which is 1% under invoice.

I will order it for you when the pricing becomes available to us. Let me know what you want to do. "

Gosh... what do YOU guys think I want to do? I'm telling you... these guys at Koons have struck a rocking good deal with us.

I take it this was a local dealer to you? I had initially contacted dealers before I knew and jumped on this group buy. They are still contacting me and trying to earn my business. It'll be interesting to see the pricing they come back with once we are able to order.

Yep, dealer local to me. He's not the first one to express disbelief at the deal...

Re: DC metro area group buy

Called Koons today and talked with Tom, the GM. He sent me an e-mail with a fair, easy to read deal.

There is certainly no question in my mind that I will find a lower price on a 2014. I just need to decide if I WANT the 2014 Overland w/ Hemi or the 2013 Overland w/ Hemi... works out to $3,700 difference in OTD pricing. Luckily Koons is honoring the price until COB 30 April so I have a few days.

So thanks to those members who got the ball rolling on this -- it is greatly appreciated.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Do I need to mention a group code or something? I'm thinking about getting something they currently have in inventory instead of waiting a while for custom configuration one to deliver.

Also, do I have to go through Nader/GM?

Thanks

Re: DC metro area group buy

I emailed Nader & CCd Tom. In my subject line I wrote "2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Pricing via Jeepgarage.org Affiliation". I went on to tell them what I wanted, etc. Then I spoke with Tom.

Re: DC metro area group buy

I made the 85-mile drive down to Koons last Friday. They had the Overland I wanted out front, washed and ready for delivery. I went in and talked with Nader who had all of the paperwork ready. All they needed to do was evaluate my trade. The night before I asked Tom --the GM-- how they faired with Carmax on trades. He said, sometimes we are higher, sometimes they are higher but we will work with you to make the deal. So, I was fairly confident I'd be leaving in a new Overland.

25-mins later, Nader comes and tells me the offer.... $18,000. I was shocked. I had just come from Carmax who offered $24,000. Now, I knew there was a good chance there would be a difference, but $6k? So, when I told Nader that wouldn't work he said, well, go and sell your car to carmax and then come back and get the deal. Really? What happend to making it work? I could have saved myself a trip for an estimate like that. It was a long, sad journey home.

My popint to those with a trade, just be cautious. If you don't have a trade, the price offer of 7% below invoice - incentives + $499 processing/TTL is legit.

FWIW, I went into DARCAR, Rockville to look at a remianing 2013 Summit and they offered $24k for my e350. I walked because I wasn't sure if i'd move forward on the '14. The next day the SM texted me and offered another $1,000 for a total of $25k.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Yep, I have NO intention of bringing a trade with me when I pick up my truck... eventually. I expected that given the deal they are making they would be really miserly on the trade values. Thanks for the confirmation/heads up.

Forgive me if this was already asked/answered, but how long is the pricing (7% below invoice) good for?
