Re: DC metro area group buy

So just wanted to verify and check in. I flew down to DC yesterday to pick up my Overland from Koons. All went smoothly, no hidden fees, no problems, no gimmicks, nothing. Nadar even picked me up at the airport which was very nice of him and he's really nice guy. Think 2 other people from this group buy were also picking their Jeep up yesterday but I didn't get to talk to them to confirm.

Good stuff and thank you again for those who helped set this up, keep this thread grounded from the doubters, and put in all the effort in the beginning. Thank you!

Congrats...we want pics lol. BTW-were you charged the increase for the Hemi or was the price OTD was the pre-agreed upon purchase price at your order?

This is great news, thanks for the update. Glad it worked out that Nader was able to get you from the airport. Hope the drive home left a smile on your face the whole time -- I'm still smiling every time I get in.

My price was the exact price from invoice pricing on this site - 7%
no extra fees except the 499 one agreed upon in the original group buy

Thanks, it has 1000 miles on it already and so far so good no problems at all and I am liking it very much! My only one minor complaint would be the cheap bargain basement Goodyear tires they put on it. I don't like how the 18 inch wheels get the Michelins and the 20s get the crappy noisy Goodyears. I will change to a different type when the time comes. Did the first oil change at 1000 with Pennzoil Ultra Synthetic and have the factory skid plates ordered. I snapped a few pictures after I got it washed today. For anyone still thinking of buying I really like this truck a lot and highly recommend it! Thanks to all on here and at Koons for your help and support.

Re: DC metro area group buy

We just hit 1k miles over the weekend and figured it was well past time for it's first wash. If you're like me (visit Jeep Garage more often than the wife can roll her eyes at; got amped up every time Milous posted a tidbit; and think Scott, the JG team, Chevy and Marlon are a Godsend), the first wash is really the first true critical inspection of the truck -- a time to deeply examine the fit and finish. When we picked it up from the dealer I looked it over, focusing on the bumper/lift gate alignment, any headlamp condensation, the missing undercarriage oil filter door, inspected the rubber trim around the sunroof and windows, etc. But to be honest, I was so eager to take it home that I knew I wouldn't see everything. So I put some miles on it, babied it to 500, and am only now beginning to not think twice about stomping on the V8.

Long story short, I'm a big fan of the truck. I appreciate everybody on this thread that committed to the group buy and hope others are able to join the rest of us if they think the deal is worthwhile.

One thing I want to mention is that I followed some of the wash/detailing threads on JG and hit up Adam's Polishes and Detailed Images. Ultimately bought from Adam's and their stuff exceeded my expectations. Great videos/hints on their site. Hopefully they'll become a JG site sponsor soon.

Enough of the blabbing -- here are the pics (though washed, had to leave a little "off-roading" touch behind the rear wheels to remind everybody it's a 4x4)...

It is awesome that you are still loving the Jeep after the first 1000 miles, I'm close to 1100 now and still loving it. When things work right, we love them beyond belief. If something happens to go wrong, we almost can't get rid of them fast enough. I didn't have mine a full day before I washed and waxed it. Babying it at first is OK in my book as I am doing the same. Congrats again!!

What products did you use from Adams washes and what tips did you utilize that helped you out?

Re: DC metro area group buy

I watched most if not all of the videos -- ended up reaching out to Adam's b/c of them. Most detailing sites, including DI, had decent explanations but no corresponding how-to videos. The two bucket wash worked well, definitely label the buckets as suggested to ensure you know which is rinse and which is soap. Also, use of the detail spray prior to drying was very helpful, and their "great white" microfiber towel for drying the truck worked exceptionally well. But by far the best tip was in the 2 bucket wash video and the explanation of the "sheet" or "cooling" rinse @ the 8:30 mark. I wish these guys had been around to offer that last hint when I was 10 years old washing the family vehicles.

Re: DC metro area group buy

If anyone's interested, the truck I ordered, then canceled when I decided to wait for the CRD but they didn't cancel for some reason (I spoke to Nader and he was ok with the cancelation so it shouldn't screw things up for this GB) is on it's way to the dealer now.

It's Limited 4x4 Max Steel, V8. ORA II, Lux II. Should be a really nice truck.
