67CJ is on a distinguished road
Just want thank everyone who's been posting. I pulled the trigger on my 14 Overland last week at Koons. Everyone's input was extremely helpful and I thought I would return the favor and share a couple of things. First Nader and the entire Koons team were exactly as advertised......the price was was spot on with my calculations and there were no surprises with the financing, 1.9% and no pressure on extended warranty etc. I've been buying cars for 30 years and its never been that easy and straightforward. When you buy a new, very popular model and you look at Carmax for the same car and you see a used 2013 and $600 more you know you got a great deal. Lastly, I thought I was definitely getting the Hemi, having driven both at separate times, until I drove them back to back. The Hemi, with its 200+ pounds extra on the front end made the GC seem to heavy and the braking was not as good. Taking it out of Eco mode does a pretty good job of making me forget the Hemi. BTW, it's a max steel built on 5/6.... It had just come on the lot, got lucky.

I did and I'm pleased with the choice. I'll be towing a 67 cj5 from time to time and that should top out around 5500 pounds with trailer, so I didn't have to have the v8. I'll update the post in a few weeks once I've towed the CJ.

Re: DC metro area group buy

I picked up my Overland last Friday at Koons, and like others here have reported, the transaction was super easy, no drama, and the price was exactly as described for the DC Group Buy.

The Jeep had a full tank of gas and it was well-prepped---no one seemed bothered that I spent close to an hour going over the fit and finish before accepting delivery. Finance guy was low key and he got the reams of paperwork and the temp tag done in about 20 minutes.

Nader made the whole thing work. He reports that he has now done about 30 sales of 2014 Grand Cherokees through Jeepgarage's DC Group Buy. I think this is probably the "hottest" of the various Jeepgarage group buys.

Here's a quick snapshot of Nader putting the tag on my new Jeep. Beauty shots of the Overland back here in Chicago in a few days.

I got back to Chicago on Saturday. I like to drive.

Koons sticker came off really easy. Peeled off with my finger...sticker had not had a chance to "bake" into place. I like to keep the Jeep as simple in appearance as possible...

I'm sure you loved the drive with a big smile as you rode home in style.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Congrats. I'm thinking of doing the group buy here from Charlotte, since Koons is so close to IAD.

Did you get a taxi or did they pick you up? (can't remember if you flew in)

Is the front license plate required in IL? If not, did Koons still put a license plate holser on the front?

Thanks,
Al

Flew in to Dulles. I had a business meeting in Chantilly (near Dulles) earlier in the day, so I was using taxis for travel. But Nader will have someone from Koons pick you up at Dulles if you give him enough advance notice.

Yes, front plate is the law in Illinois---so, I didn't have Koons do anything unusual there. Plates are required front and rear in Virginia (where Koons is located), even Temp Tags, I think.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Wanted to post a big thanks to BlueWave and others posting here on the Koons Group Buy. I have been speaking with Nader he has been very helpful. I put my deposit in on Thursday Evening. Pricing is exactly as people have said here on the forum. Then I got my Jeep Order confirmation first thing Monday morning. I am having a 14 GC Overland 4x4 Max Steel w/Indigo interior built.
