Re: DC metro area group buy

I promised Thomas feedback from my recent order with him and all I have are good things to say. First, this is the best no haggle deal I could have ever found, anywhere. Second, it took about 24hrs from first contacting Thomas before my order was placed and all it took was a few emails and a couple of short phone calls. Last, Thomas was very courteous and professional the whole time.
I've been "waiting" for this Jeep to be released for at least a couple of years now, and although that wasn't painless, surprisingly the ordering process was. Now to wait just a few more weeks before
Thanks Thomas and Koons for the great deal!!

Re: DC metro area group buy

Just an update to those people interested in LEASING....apparently the issue is that Koons is unwilling to commit to a Money Factor and Residual Value on an ordered vehicle. (understandable) So I order the truck as spec'd..wait for it to arrive and we visit the leasing option at that point. Worst case..I walk away losing a $500 deposit ....Its not really a gamble as I feel confident that they would rather make a deal than just make $500 deposit money which would get spent on floorplan until the truck eventually sold...

So tomorrow I pull the trigger on a deposit and start the waiting.....

Thanks again Big Wave and others who made this group buy available....this is the way forums should work. Pooling resources and leveraging buying power to benefit everyone who is a TRUE enthusiast...

(FYI - New on here..but have owned multiple Wranglers and JGC's over the last 15yrs...)

Re: DC metro area group buy

For those that did the DC group buy and had Milous' tracking, how long ( days) did it take for your Jeep from release at JNAP to Koons dealership?

Just trying to get a "scheduling" idea, since my Jeep is still stuck in "Inspection".

Mine released 6/3 and was delivered 6/17. However, it sat at the rail yard in MD for a week or so, which is longer than normal (from what I understand).

Delivered to dealer 4.15.13

Some "inspections" takes more time than others but as Chevy has indicated, the time has gone down dramatically since the earlier builds. Tough to say how long -- does Milous have a guestimate for you?

Re: DC metro area group buy

Thanks guys. I was hoping it would get released from inspection soon( 10+ days so far) and be on the bullet train to DC so I could use the $500 coupon by the end of August...oh well (still a great deal though).

I'm wondering if Milous could indicate what area of the manufacturing needs more inspecting?

Al

Take a look at some of the discussion Chevy's supplied on the topic of inspections, very insightful. If I remember correctly, Milous doesn't opine on the "what's being inspected", nor do calls to customer service result in specifics. From the manufacturer's perspective they found something that needed to be corrected, their quality control process worked and they'll ship out a vehicle up to their standards. The word "inspection" to those of us w/ access to MOTS and able to track so much more than what VOTS provides places us the purgatory curse of information w/o context on us. Many other folks tracking through MOTS ended up taking on worst-case-scenarios when in fact it could be something minor for which JNAP is just waiting on the non-critical velcro supply to arrive. Now, JeeperJohn has a story to tell about wait time, but those examples have dwindled significantly on JG.

....no wammies no wammies!!!!

Re: DC metro area group buy

Good afternoon Forum members, I picked up my 2014 Red Overland with tech package from Tom Ames of Koons. The deal is real and is good on a lease as that's what I did. There were a few bumbs in the road trying to work out the deal but, in the end it worked out and Tom stayed true to the deal. Thanks everyone who helped make this happen. No dealer in the Philly area would even come close to this deal.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Is the deal as good as the "Wow Price" they advertise on the Koon's website?

Re: DC metro area group buy

Does anyone know, if a vehicle is bought out of state and has that states inspection sticker, does it have to be reinspected in your home state, such as PA. Can I wait till the inspection is due in a year?
