Hey Guys,

I'm a new member here and just saw this post yesterday. Is it too late to join the group?

I just hope these deals are straight forward with no bs. Getting 10 people to wait around when they are purchasing a vehicle is difficult.

What exactly does Koons want from the 10 members wanting to purchase? I know that I'd be pretty upset if I commit, and they change the terms - or say we only get 9 members and they try to tell me it's only going to be 1% under invoice or some dirty business like that I'll walk and go somewhere else even if it's more expensive.
I'm working on getting exact terms in writing. Looking to get a 30-day ordering window and minimum deposit amount and language stating what happens if we have less than 10, less than 5, etc. BTW, this is Tyson's Koons.

Nope - I'm new here as well but it looks like things are still fleshing out. Great that we have more people coming on-board with this.

I'd be fine to give a deposit on my order if that is what they need. I just want to lock in the price and have a written contract that it's x% under invoice upon arrival so we don't waste our time.

I've had too many dealerships in the past over promise and under deliver.

Works for me depending on terms. Let me know.

I think best case would be if we could arrange for a bunch of us confirm and pay on the same day so we know it's all locked down at least to a minimum of say 5 people that get's us like 4-5% under invoice, and then we get the bonus when it get's to 10+ of 7% under invoice.

Wow 7% under is awesome....hope dealer fees don't take it back up a few points.

Welcome to Jeep Garage, dannyguo. Not too late at all. Take a look at the spread sheet from post #94, send me the details of the truck you want and PM me your contact info (email address/phone). Thanks to only1tobin we're still negotiating the best deal. He's getting specifics for Koons in Tysons Corner and I'm waiting to hear back from Safford Jeep in Fredericksburg what they can do. --- edit -- from Farrish Jeep in Fairfax we are guaranteed 5% below invoice for 5-9 orders and 6% below invoice for 10+ orders.

Re: DC metro area group buy

My details are right. Just debating billet or max steel right now. I need to see a letter in writing and signed from the dealer though.

Thanks, BigWave. I'm still struggling between Laredo "E" 4x4 with options and Limited 4x4. Hopefully I can give you the details later tonight.

Re: DC metro area group buy

A buddy of mine is in for an SRT. Very jealous. I'm trying to figure out what it will "cost" him for me to put him in our group....I get to drive it when it gets here... um.....

Re: DC metro area group buy

I would like to jump in on this too. I am new to the forum but have been waiting for the CRD forever. I am leaning toward the 4x4 overland or summit CRD, although I am still trying to determine the difference between the two. I would definitely be in for the group by if I can be added.

Also any input on the difference between the overland and summit would be appreciated. I get dizzy looking at the specs on that one Stickied post.

Since I live in Fairfax any of these dealers work for me.

This is a good pdf on the comparison of the features. http://www.wk2jeeps.com/2014/2014_wk...ailability.pdf

Re: DC metro area group buy

I live in Arlington and work in Fairfax so Farrish or Koons Tysons would work fine for me. I too would like to see something in writing and also know what their "invoice" price is that we are getting a discount on. I know that the general pricing is available in another thread and elsewhere on the web but I'd like to see the actual price that each dealer is going to quote us for.

I like the idea of spelling out a written contract that includes discounts based on number of buyers and includes a timeframe in which to purchase. A deposit would be fine by me but again, this would all have to be spelled out in writing. I will not put down a $500 deposit only to drive the CRD and find out it's not what I'm looking for (unlikely) and then lose my cash.

Bottom line, this can all work but I think we would all benefit from hashing out ALL of the details and fine print before agreeing to anything.
