BigWave, I've been trolling since the start of this tread and my 2000 GC is finally giving enough reasons to move on, so I'll probably be jumping in as a Christmas present to myself. No CRD though.

Re: DC metro area group buy

We picked up our Black Limited with Lux II, 20 in wheels, and tow package, on Saturday. The Group buy is the best price that I was able to find. The dealer made it very easy to purchase. Fantastic job taking care of us through the process. My only complaint was when we sat down with the "finance" guy to sign the paperwork and I had to listen to him drone on for about an hour about the extended warranty. When I said no, his whole attitude changed and kind of soured the experience. However, the sales manager, Phil, was one of the best people I have ever worked with at a car dealership.

Thanks for setting this up!

I recently had the opportunity to visit the dealership with a buddy who's looking to purchase a vehicle -- hadn't made up his mind but was interested in Jeep, among others. I reached out to Nader and, as always, he was very accommodating and agreed to meet with us earlier this week. During our chat to set up an appointment, Nader politely reiterated his understanding of the relationship he has with our GB -- specifically that we work through him and his manager. When my buddy and I hit the dealership to do a couple test drives, I found the opportunity to speak with Nader's manager and reaffirm what his expectations were with respect to our interactions with his dealership. He confirmed that they would like us to deal directly and solely with Nader and him.

As many of you know, another individual from the dealership, Mr. Ames, signed on and chatted with a few of us on this thread and the JG forum. Mr. Ames, we appreciate your help and hope you'll continue to interact with us, but we will abide by the original agreement established by the dealership, and reinforced by both Nader and his manager.

Moving forward, no matter whether you're a long time JG participant or lurker, or a newbie, if you're interested in participating in this GB, please PM me your email address and I will connect you with the folks we're working with. If you have any questions, take a read through the thread. If you still have questions after that, feel free to ask away. (NOTE: your first question should be "Chivvalry, have you ever considered one of these?"

Thanks to everybody who helped pull this GB together and kept it running smoothly.

I also have spent over forty years in providing Superior Customer Service. My intentions are to provide the members of this forum not only the best price but also outstanding purchase experience before during and after the Sale.

In no way am I trying to upset the apple cart. but to offer my services to your members. I take great pride in the fact that I am currently the Top Salesperson at Koons but more importantly I have the Highest Customer Satisfaction scores. Go to Dealer Rater.com to read some of my reviews.

I think it would be wrong to the members of this Form to limit them in their choices of whom they should do business with just because of a first contact. I do not think this adds to the value of the purchase experience When it is all said and done the question should be Did I get a Great value and did I have an outstanding purchase experience?

Hey Tom,

That's cool and all but airing what appears to be an internal dispute over "ownership" of the prospective customers coming from this group buy arrangement on a public forum seems odd, maybe even unprofessional. Especially as there has been no negative feedback on our "assigned" salesman...

Respectfully,
Chivvalry

There is no internal dispute of "Ownership" of prospective customers. You put my name out there by saying not to go to Mr.Ames. All I am doing is responding to your public post.

Actually, I didn't. The original organizer of this group buy did based off of direct feedback from the people that he dealt with to set up the arrangement.

...and pardon me... but it certainly seems there is some sort of internal dispute. My wife calls me dense as lead... but even I can see that there is a disagreement here.

Re: DC metro area group buy

Mr. Ames -- we value your input and hope you'll continue to provide it. I look forward to learning any insights about the truck you care to share and applaud your proven record of solid, professional salesmanship.

The point of the GB was to find the best deal for people who cared to partake. We worked out an agreement with your employer and are abiding by that agreement. I believe those who have already ordered are comfortable with their decision to purchase under the stipulations agreed to -- and one of those stipulations is that we work with a specific sales representative. To my knowledge, none of the members who developed this deal got to pick with whom we work, that was decided by your colleagues.

If folks care to work within this GB, we are obliged to follow the preferences expressed by the dealership.

I wish you all the best Mr. Ames, and hope you are able to serve many more satisfied customers. From the sounds of it, your employer has a number of very successful salesmen -- we've been thrilled to work with our designated representative.

For those who care to utilize this GB, PM me your email address and I will connect you with the folks we are working with. I encourage anybody interested in the GB to take it out for a test drive. If you like the deal, great. If you don't like it for any reason, thank you for your interest and we wish you the best with your purchase.

The dude basically said that my GPS and manifold were going to go out and I'd be screwed. It seemed like he was just naming random car parts and telling me that they regularly break. I was thinking, "If these items regularly break this much, maybe I should buy a different car." I told him that I'm skilled enough to complete many repairs myself. He literally replied, "No, you are not." After I told him no 3 or 4 more times, he got a call from his buddy about lunch, he said on the phone "I have a migraine now I need to eat but I cant, I'm with a customer" Then he handed my my license plates and said "Go find your dealer." That was the last I spoke to Andy.

If his head hurt that bad, he could have just listened to me the first time I said no. Then he wouldn't have to talk at me for another 35 min in his office.

The way he treated me, despite the fact that I was spending over 40K at his dealership, really started to bother me. He was by far the worst part of my buying experience.

Luckly, the sales managers were awesome.

The detail guys put a few scratches on the lift gate, and a small/shallow .5 inch cut in the dash. Koon buffed the scratches out and filled/sanded down the cut in the dash. The dash repair isn't perfect, but its close. They didnt even question it when I asked if they would take a look at them.
