2011?

I probably installed your left side rear shock, as that was what I was doing at the time. With all the overtime I was working, heck who knows, I just may have driven yours!

At my old job, I had a lady customer who has had nothing but Grand Cherokees since 1992.

She had a '93, '95, '97, '99, '01, '03, '05, '07, '09, '11... then I lost track. She's probably driving a '14 now... ALL of them have been black Limiteds. I drove the '07 and '09, at the time I was a valet boy.

EDIT: I drove the '11 too...

Re: Dealer Says My Summit May Be Sent Back to JNAP for Re-Inspection ?!

^^^^^^^

I got my first GC in the fall of 1992. Forest Green Laredo with gray cloth interior. Then mostly black Limited's ones ever since although one was a Deep Slate 5.9L Limited. I had to go back and count. 1993 Laredo, 1998 5.9L Limited, 2002 Limited, 2005 Limited, 2011 Summit. Also owned a 2002 Wrangler along the way but always continuously had a GC.

For what it is worth, my 2005 NEVER had even one issue for fixing or repair (besides normal schedule maintenance and tires, brake pads) with it in the nearly 6 years I owned it. Very solid. My 2011 seems the same so far....

Keep on building them!!! I may go and test drive a 2014 just to get a taste of what has been changed......

This thread is so cool. We have a Chrysler rep that has reached out to OP and then a JNAP worker who has marked a member's Jeep, with a picture to boot!

I actually took the picture after delivery. If Marlon could have taken it, I would have asked for pictures of the entire car.

While that's good news, the concept of a "Mystery Hold and Release" that nobody seems to know about and nobody can explain doesn't really give me a "warm & fuzzy" feeling about my Jeep I am about to pay $50k for !!!!

I still have to find out the EXACT Reason for the Hold before I can take Delivery !!

Beski,

The fact it didn't go back means that it was likely not affected. Also Milous posted something about Gorilla glue and his hints are often very clever, this may have been a trim and moldings issue? You should definitely look to see if you can find out the issue but if your vehicle was unaffected they may not release that info.

I have seen manufacturers be aware of serious issues and simply let the vehicles go to dealer and try and fix them later (build out 2013 avalanche or escalade ext anyone?) Frankly if this is a cosmetic issue with the vehicle it simply installs more faith in JNAPs process for me. Hitting the stop button on deliveries often means the manufacturer delays getting paid from the dealer, so this is no small move on their part. Again, I do not work for Chrysler or any associated branch, this is all IMO and based on what I see from other manufacturers North American and over seas.

Re: Dealer Says My Summit May Be Sent Back to JNAP for Re-Inspection ?!

Thing is, unless trim pieces started falling off on the train, there were ZERO issues with Beski's Jeep.

I'm like him at this point, even *I* want to know what the heck was going on... probably more than he does.

But, I would STILL take delivery without a single concern.
