The plan runs until the odometer hits 60,000 miles. The time starts on the in service date of the vehicle.

Just as the standard car warranty they protect themselves with those things you mention above, as they should. But the abuse, modification, etc. would have to be related to what you are trying to get covered. If you modify the sound system, they are not going to deny a claim on the transmission. These things are legit and a good idea considering the complexities of todays vehicles and the cost of repairs.

The individual I worked with for my Mopar service contract at Zeigler was Bob Cline. He was great over the phone. Make sure you ask for any available discounts.

The MaxCare contract mileage is normally from "date of in-service" as a new vehicle. There may be different provisions for someone who is not the original owner...I suggest you call them to discuss if you bought used since most web sites assume you are the original owner. So yes, you'd be leaving yourself with 29K of coverage with a 60K plan.

That's standard language for any extended service contract. Nobody is going to cover a loss due to abuse, neglect, etc. As long as you do normal maintenance according to the published schedule or sooner...it doesn't matter who does it...you'll be find on that piece.

Thank you. I am the original owner of the Jeep. Its a lease and I will be buying it out at the end of the agreement which is why it currently has $31,000 miles.

Re: Dealer warranty

So I pickup my truck today and asked about the warranty. He showed me the plus and the lifetime warranty information. When I asked if I should just go online because they have better prices he said and I quote "No no, online is nothing but scams". Which I replied "Umm, its mopar's web site" and he said " It might look like mopar but its a scammer site and I should buy with him".
Lol, this is why I hate dealing with the dealership. Maybe I need to find a new one.

Aside from the BS he gave you, what kind of an answer would you expect if you ask a salesman if you should buy from someone else?

Re: Dealer warranty

Produce a quote from another Mopar dealer and ask him to match it. If he continues to claim it's a scammer...go home and order it from the online dealer.

Re: Dealer warranty

Ok so my sales guys at the stealership hasn't gotten back to me so I am just going to buy from Ziegler online. Last question, again sorry I never bought a warranty in my life for a car: I understand this is factory coverage from a authorized dealer so let's say something goes wrong in the jeep and I walk into my local dealership for repairs. Will the tech see my warranty on their computer? There is nothing I need to do or call to prove I have coverage?

Thanks in advance.

Yes the tech will see it on their computer. You will also receive documentation showing the service contract that you purchased.

Re: Dealer warranty

Keep in mind that for the first 3 years/36,000 miles, the only thing you may use it for is a rental car. So, the first time you go in for service ask the service writer to confirm that it shows. Also, if you create a user's account @ Jeep.com, the information should show up there.

I just got a quote from Bob Cline at Zeigler of $1085 for 5 year/ 60,000 mile with $50 deductible.
