I'm sure the heating bill is a lot higher in CO.

If you really want that jeep, which you probably do since you've waited this long, I'd try to get them to throw in a few oil changes and tire rotations. Gets you a little closer to your goal with something you need, and it really doesn't cost them much. 😀

Re: Dealership Backing out of agreed pricing

I have deleted my response in the other thread because I did not see this one.

I have also been in contact with this dealership. It seems there are a few California buyers that contacted them because of your original post. So, you are not the only person negotiating with them. Since I want the CRD, the lady in question took my information and is going to contact me once it is available to order. If they are going to do a "bait and switch," then I'll just do Colorado. I have frequent miles to burn and have the time to do a road trip.

Re: Dealership Backing out of agreed pricing

Turns out it was a miscommunication from the beginning. Original salesperson stated they would match any offer, I showed her an offer, approval was never gotten from sales manager for said offer. After I thought that was approved, I suggested a "group buy" so they could get some volume sales. That's when the sales manager was finally informed, he agreed wanting a 5 car minimum. Salesperson took it upon herself to say that they would still honor said price (from the letter) for me even if five people don't buy.

I guess I shouldn't really complain. They had been great and this was the only (even though it was a big one) hiccup in the process. Apparently they can beat my CU finance rates barely, so that is a plus there. Thanks all for the advice, and even after all of this I'd probably still recommend them as long as you verify with the GSM prior to ordering what the actual deal is.

It seems more of a miscommunication than a bait and switch, after going back and forth with the GSM today. PM me for his contact info, it will probably be better to go that route.

Sold a late model Unlimited originally purchased in Colorado to a California resident and the extra fees for complying with CARB rules ate up the savings he might have realized. Last I heard it was a flat $500 fee when bringing a vehicle into California. That's why I live in Colorado! Propane for house heating is considerably cheaper here than in California.

All GC are 50 states complaint now. I don't know what your situation was. I previously bought a new Mini Cooper back in 2003 from Utah and there was no trouble registering it in CA. The CA DMV's website has specific instructions on how to check this link:
Before Buying a Vehicle From Out of State - Be Sure You Can Register It in California FFVR 29

I am doing exactly that from the UK next week! And have arranged test drive at Faricy Boys in Colorado Springs who have agreed to honour group buy deal of $1750 below invoice with no dealer fees. Can't wait. Only decision. V6 or V8!!!

Re: Dealership Backing out of agreed pricing

A Dealer here in Atlanta is offering $4000 off list. How close is this to what the Colorado dealer is offering?
