Heard some good stories about them, is it possible to take mine there for service? How deep is that in LI?

At the end of the day there will be good and bad experiences at every dealership. Just go where you feel most comfortable, and where you think you can trust the dealer.

Re: dealerships in NYC

I bought my 13 jgc limited from manhattan about a month or so a go. I also had Steve as my salesman. Nice guy, I liked him. The dealership I wasn't thrilled with. Car wasn't in the shape i would have hoped. A minor scratch on the door, flashlight in trunk didn't work, interior had scuffs. I guess I expected more from a place where I just dropped almost 40k on a truck

Wherever you go Stay far away from Riverdale Jeep. Far away...

MY next NYC purchase was to go through Manhattan Jeep/Chrysler. Great reports on thier service from outside this forum.

I got my 2012 Altitude from Westbury Jeep, they gave me the best trade in value for my heavily modded 2004 VW GTI. My sales man doesn't work there anymore but they included free scheduled oil changes, state vehicle inspection, roadside assistance to name a few!

**** Manhattan Jeep and their service department. They tried to scam me out of 300 bucks with my old WJ saying I needed brakes when I didnt. Then I give them a second chance when they clean house with the staff and this is what happened with my SRT recently.

I call the service adviser and I get the same bullshit that the tech couldnt replicate the problem and I said ok and I hung up and left work and went to the dealer.

I get there and I said whats the problem and the service adviser said again the tech couldnt replicate the problem. So I said lets put it on the lift and I will show you. So the service adviser said ok, I will have him put it on the lift and then we will go up there.

Ok. So I waited like 5-10 mins then the adviser came and got me and said, lets go. And the way the guy said it was like oh I'm gonna show this guy hes wrong. So the jeep is on the lift, and I put the flashlight app on and then I show him, look the bumpstops arent there.

Then the tech is like well, you dont have to tell me. Obviously I do because you cant find the problem. Just because you, "dont feel the problem" doesnt mean the issue isnt present. I didnt need to leave work and come and diagnose the problem for you. Then the tech said whatever. So I said, ok, I'm gonna go speak to your manager. And threw in a few choice words. You get nasty with me, I get nasty with you.

I get downstairs and I talk to the manager, and said out in front of everyone the issue, and said loudly, I'm not certified by Chrysler and I'm telling you guys how to solve the problem. Then the manager said, lets go into my office. So I went into his office and the adviser came in as well. The manager was like well I apologize for the way the tech spoke to you but you should not have been up there. I said THE ADVISER TOOK ME UP THERE. He goes ohhh then looked at the adviser and he looked at him like you are in trouble. Then I said to him, I called up and the only answer I get about anything is that the tech has to drive it and he cant find the problem. Then the manager said I apologize and we will get this fixed and it is covered under your warranty.

So the part is going to come in on Thursday and I will drop it off and they will replace it.

And that will be the last time I go into that place.

MANHATTAN JEEP SUCKS!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!

I need to find a good dealer (if thats possible). I miss Leigh (magnumman426), my personal friend who is a SRT tech that moved to Florida last year. And since the HEMISHOP closed, I dont trust anyone at Westbury.

I bought 5 Jeeps from them (3 business and 2 personal) over the years and this is how they treat people. Only jeep I didnt buy from them was the SRT.

Like I said I am never going there again.

Re: dealerships in NYC

I bought a pre-owned Liberty from East Hills back in '07 and was generally happy with them. Their service was pretty good. Not having a garage I always used them for rear dif oil changes b/c they would actually remove the dif cover, and even got in the gears with a brush, marked them to make sure all the teeth still had good contact and removed 100% of the old gasket liner before putting the cover back on. They also provided loaner cars.

I special ordered my 2014 GC Limited Labor Day weekend at Guiffre Jeep in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. It arrived in Oct without Navigation so I had to go to the service station to have it uploaded. However, I just discovered that they probably ordered the 8.4A radio and not the 8.4AN which is what I wanted - Navigation, Nav turn display in the EVIC, 3D maps, HD radio, Sirius Travel Link, Nav with Traffic, full address voice command for the Navigation and a few other things.

I've been to their service station 3 times. Once to get the Nav uploaded. A 2nd to do a 500 mile oil change (she's my baby.) The last time I was at the service station to fix a few issues (Navigation features not working mentioned above, auto dim high-beams didn't work, and getting the rear door panel detailed to remove spots on the door when the Jeep was delivered.)

I was told they would open at 7AM (specifically 7AM) they opened at 7:30. That afternoon I called & the service manger (Rob) who said it's all set and all fixed. He told me I was not doing things correctly and it's all in the settings. Happy it was working and said he'll need to show me. When I picked it up that afternoon it turned out nothing was fixed. They could not explain how to get the Navigation turns to appear in the EVIC. The auto high-beams had a broken sensor (one month old and broken already?) in the rear view mirror and needed to be ordered. The rear door was never detailed and still had the spots on it.

So while I have Navigation, I'm missing a lot of other features I was expecting and a major purchasing factor. The first Sales Manager (Dan) told me there is nothing they can do. I'm meeting with their general manager on Monday and expect that the problem will be resolved to my satisfaction. Before all of this happened, I was quite pleased with the purchase process of the Jeep. However, they got the special order wrong and the service department is an utter disappointment. I can only hope it improves from here. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Re: dealerships in NYC

Going to echo the same with Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge. They are a stealer ship. They will try everything in the books to screw you, give you the run around, and will never honor their word on resolving an issue. You have been warn about their shady ways. stay clear from buying from them.

Damn man sorry to hear that! Similar story for me at Riverdale. I showed them pics of my leaking shocks and they still didn't replace twice. Looked at my obviously misaligned rear hatch but said it was normal. Even the scuffing of the paint off the bumper from the misaligned hatch was apparently normal. sand and bubbles in the paint,,, normal.. trim around the windows coming off, you guessed it .. normal. I'm living in Florida right now where is your Jeep mechanic? I still have Jeep in my sights but Lexus and a few others keep enticing me too.
