I would only consider the demo if it was a really good deal. What's a good deal??
I have to believe if its a demo the sticker price is lower then the one you ordered since it wouldn't have the RHR (unless it has adaptive cruise). $500 is a joke. I bought a demo, but it was the owners personal vehicle and never used as a test car (it was parked in the show room with he was done with it). I got over $3000 off of affiliate pricing and the lifetime max care warranty for $1565, winter mats and window tinting additional services and discounts on accessory purchases.

They're missing the end zero on that figure...and no, I'm not kidding. Those units get trashed.

Re: Demo Purchase (need some advice)

I had orally agreed to purchase a LImited demo with 2500 miles that was driven by the dealership GM. I waffled and purchased a new Limited.

The price reduction being offered was not enough to coerce me to go demo. & although I have almost 4K mileage, my Limited still smells new to me, and I got to break it in my way.

Buy new!

Mine was a demo by the GM, but it only had 700 miles on it.

Nope your not weird at all I would have done the same thing. Hell, I would have rejected one with 20 miles. That's the whole point of buying new so that you get a vehicle not driven around by any other tools.

Re: Demo Purchase (need some advice)

$500 is nothing for a demo with 2,000 miles. It would take at least $2,500 to get me to think about it, but even that is a stretch. Wait for the order, trust me, its worth the wait!

The 730N RHR alone is worth the wait. (plus you've got a great deal there)

I'd have to ask them if they've fallen down and hit their heads. Because no one in their right mind would entertain such an idiotic proposal. To offer you $500 tells you everything you need to know on how they view you. (as a rube)

Make sure you tell them you've shared the experience online. (c'mon, name the dealer so we can all make fun of them publicly!)

Thanks everyone for you comments and advice. You have confirmed my feeling that this was a bad deal. I will just wait for my order to come in.

Re: Demo Purchase (need some advice)

Honestly I would tell them to shove it, cancel your order and go to another dealer. Talk about scam artists...

Your user name suits you well...LOL

I would consider that but I have already been turned down for affiliate pricing with another dealership and don't feel like going through this process again.
