Desert Drive - Some slight body damage

I went on a desert drive again a couple days ago with some friends. Just my Overland and his lifted JK with 37" tires.
We had loads of fun and the GC kept up surprisingly well with the Wrangler. The biggest limitation with the Overland was the low profile tires. I only drop them to about 18psi and that is not really enough to stay on top of the soft sand. The problem is that at lower pressures the tire comes off the rim quite easily (been there, done that).
I never once got stuck, but then again I was driving like a maniac to keep the momentum up and not sink in. Needless to say the Wrangler just rolled along without any issues.
So while trying to keep up, I over did it a little and at some point the rear bumper got caught in the sand. The desert removed the lower black plastic part quite nicely for us. I ordered a new one and it will be here in about a month. Cost is AED 928 (just over $250).
I will try and fit in in such a way that it is easy to remove before our next dune bashing trip. Same sort of idea as the front one, just need to think about it a little bit.
On the plus side...at least I had loads of clearance at the back once it was off and we could continue the drive without any further worries.

Re: Desert Drive - Some slight body damage

Hard luck man. Love seeing the Desert pics. I'm in Kuwait btw, noticed you're in Dubai! Good on ya, nothing like a good trip out to the Desert.

Looks beautiful. I'll probably try and get in contact with you since I drive down to Dubai every now and then. Would love to bring my new Overland down there and hit the dunes with you and your buddy at some point!

Seeing that pic is like seeing your child falling and getting a gash. It's painful to see but the best thing is that it could have been worse and your Jeep is still alive and running.

A buddy of mine once almost got swallowed up by soft sand. Silly man and his Explorer haha.

Haha, that's hilarious! My friend dented his WK and said the same thing!

He said something along the lines of "My beast is a viking, aint nothin' but a battle scar".

Always in normal Sand mode - All the driving and photos were in ORI. Hardly ever use ORII.

They certainly would, but that screws up the on-road performance. So not really an option as I use it as a daily driver between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
