Yeah how the maxcare rental is handled seems like it can vary between dealers. I dont think that $35 dollar thing has much meaning. I have been thrilled with the way it's worked I have had about 15 seperate instances of using the maxcare rental over the last 3 years with this GC and have never paid a dime on a rental. I hand them my keys and they hand me keys to the enterprise rental its quick, transparent, no appointments, no waiting around and they have always been decent vehicles. Yesterday I had a 2016 RAM 1500 4x4 v8 with 3k miles on it, have had challengers, chargers, never once an econo box, I did get a minivan once but that was the worst. I usually take the RAMs because they are V8 lol. It makes me cry to drive a v6 in a challenger they should all have v8 If the service wait is more than 1 hour I just take the rental. The rental service works great in my opinion which is fortunate given the number of times I have had to use it with this GC.

Yes, I misspoke...it's a rental feature, albeit amounts to being a "loaner". A good dealer will make the arrangements for you if they don't have their own rental operation. My dealer does have a rental office...I just have to beat them up each time because they try really, really hard to say that my insurance doesn't cover rentals so they can get $13 a day on top of the "free" rental. I now cary a copy of my policy declarations page that proves in writing that I don't need the extra cost insurance.

That said, if the dealer doesn't arrange for the rental for a MaxCare customer, one can still call Enterprise or whomever and get a ride and then put in for reimbursement if they will not bill direct.

Re: Did I buy a lemon?

If the dealer doesn't give you one of their loaner cars and you have the max care, typically they will call enterprise for you and then you'll use that until yours is fixed. The rental is paid for by your max care at 35.00 a day.
