Diesel Fuel Filter Change Interval

How often should you change the fuel filter on a Diesel GC? I know according to the manual it is around 25,000 miles (40,000 km). However, will it be ok to change it every 30,000 miles (48,000 km) instead so that it can match the tune up intervals of the GC?

Thanks!

Re: Diesel Fuel Filter Change Interval

Might be a better choice to do the tuneups at 25,000, if doing them together is that important.

Re: Diesel Fuel Filter Change Interval

Are the tune up intervals for a GC Diesel every 25,000 miles or two years (whichever comes first)?

Re: Diesel Fuel Filter Change Interval

I was basing it in what you posted. I might have misunderstood.

Re: Diesel Fuel Filter Change Interval

There aren't any tuneup intervals for the Australian CRD engines.......however our service intervals that include oil and filter changes are at 10,000k (6200 miles)- different to New Zealand and Europe where the same engine has 20,000k (12500 miles).
The fuel filters (there are 2 underneath the body near the fuel tank) are recommended to be changed every 40,000k (25,000miles).
The disadvantage of changing them later is that if they have been contaminated (easy to do with water or crap in just one tank fill) and the filter warning goes off - it would be a brave person indeed that continued to drive the vehicle. To replace an injector pump or injectors on modern CRD engines will require a bank loan.
My filters were changed early rather than later - cheap peace of mind in my opinion.

Re: Diesel Fuel Filter Change Interval

is it more expensive to maintain a diesel GC as compared to a petrol GC over the long run?
