Well, some of these folks are first time Jeep owners. Maybe they are coming from BMWs.... Or boy racer cars.

Once their Jeep starts getting in their heads, hopefully it will help them chill just a bit. :-)

I'm actually one of those who came from BMWs and I have to say I am thrilled with the WK2. In my opinion this grand cherokee definitely deserves to be mentioned amongst the German automakers and the like.

Did I call it or what?

Seriously though, as far as features, materials, interior, driveability, etc., the GC is every bit the vehicle that equivalent German brands have to offer. Where it fails is that it is still a Chrysler, and when things go wrong, most customers are treated far from what we have come to expect of a premium brand. I told our Audi salesperson what has happened, and he said they had an Audi buyback last year. It happened far far earlier than when the lemon law would have kicked in.

Its all about customer relations, and Chrysler/Jeep have a huge gap to fill before they can play with the big boys.

Re: Differences between the 2014 Limited and Overland

I'm looking to buy the Grand Cherokee Limited with the Luxury option, but I haven't seen one in person. It doesn't look like any local dealerships have them in stock. I went to the dealership, and the dealer tried talking me out of ordering the upgraded Limited and tried forcing the basic Overland on me instead. He basically told me it was absurd to get upgrade the Limited, but after reading this forum, I think it makes much more sense for me to not get the Overland.

Does anyone have pictures of their Limited with the Luxury upgrade? I'd like to see pictures to be able to compare it to the Overland. Right now I'm leaning towards getting Cherry exterior with tan seats and black floor.

Thanks!

Not sure I'd say its "big", but different.

Me? I tend to find the Limited's black trim more practical & less prone to stone chips and damage, especially on a white vehicle as my wife prefers.

These were exactly the deal breakers for me. And the painted roof antenna that matched my wheel arches, though the hue seems to be slightly off...

If I had waited for a Limited with Lux package, maybe I would have gotten a trouble free Jeep.

There is no such thing as a trouble free Jeep.
... nor many owners who would really want it that way.

Sounds like you had a salestype more interested in selling you what they had rather than what you want.

Hopefully you have multiple dealers in your area.

Go build both Jeeps and ask for a quote on both... then pick the one you want.

I prefer the Overland with the Lux II , YMMV, SRA

Yeah, like the first time you park on top of the big pile of snow in the parking lot--just because you CAN and won't have to walk home.
...its a Jeep thing.
