Different Tire PSI Recommendation 2014 vs. 2015

I have a 2014 Limited with the Michelin 18's. The door placard recommends 33 psi cold. I was checking out a friend's 2015 Limited with the same tires and the door placard recommends 36 psi cold. Can others verify this?

I know the Goodyear 20's have a recommendation of 36 psi cold but both of the vehicles in question have the Michelin 18's.

Tow package possibly?

My 2014 with 20's requires 36 as you stated.

Perhaps the wheels/tires were switched? It happens quite often to make a sale.

Did they switch the door placards as well?

HUH? If it had 20's originally mounted and the dealer swapped them for 18's at some point, the door sticker would show 20 pressures. Or is that to complicated for you?

Re: Different Tire PSI Recommendation 2014 vs. 2015

This was discussed last year. Some '14s came through with 18 inch tires and a 36 psi recommendation. I checked three on the dealers lot. The one with the latest build date said 36. They were all Limiteds IIRC

So since the later build 14's and the 2015's have the 36 psi recommendation it seems like that would be the one to go by. Maybe a sort of corection?

I just checked my sticker in the door and it says 33 psi. 2015 limited CRD with 18s, tow package and off-road 1.

So it seems that there is no rhyme or reason for a 3 psi difference in recommendations. It makes you wonder how much thought is actually put into it.

I don't feel you can reach that conclusion based on 10 posts on a forum.

It just makes me wonder if the correct stickers were installed or what the correct psi is for each combination.
