Does anyone know if you can disable these? Both the rear view and the side view mirrors? I find that it dims too dark and I have trouble seeing at night. Plus my front windows are tinted so that makes it even worse. I don't see an option for it in uconnect and nothing in the manual either. Could this possibly be disabled by the dealer? I have a 2014 Overland. Thanks for your help.
Subscribed... normally there is a power button on the mirror (like in our honda) and its the first thing I do at night. I hate it.. makes it hard to see if its the FIVE O behind me.
This mirror automatically adjusts for headlight glare
from vehicles behind you. You can turn the feature on or
off by pressing the button at the base of the mirror.Alight
in the button will illuminate to indicate when the dimming
feature is activated. The mirror is twisted on the
windshield button counterclockwise and requires no
tools for mounting.
NOTE: This feature is disabled when the vehicle is
moving in reverse.
I don't know if my 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited has a button for auto dimming or not, however I have a very disturbing distortion in both of my outside mirrors. Almost impossible to look at without getting nauseated. I read on this site about similar problems with 2010 models and would have hoped the distortion was addressed by now. Does anyone know if this is still a known issue? I would not consider the "auto dimming" a feature at all if I had known about the distortion.
