Disaster Averted

This is a new one on me. This morning I went for a little test drive after finishing installing the last BWoody sway bar link (I had bent sent 2 passenger side links) on the driver's side last night (they blue-labeled out the correct part +1 for BWoody!). After a quick spin around the block my wife was waiting for me so she could drive to work.

As she was backing out, I noticed a puddle of fluid underneath where the engine compartment had been sitting (about a quart worth)! I yelled at her to stop and checked what was leaking. It was engine oil. There had been no leak overnight in the garage and apparently occured in my quick spin.

I checked the level oil level and it was down about 1 1/2 quarts. We live 2 miles from the dealership so I drove directly there to have it checked out. After about a 20 minute wait the dealership discovered the oil filter had a pin hole sized leak in it. Of course this is covered by the warranty so they put a new filter on and added 2 quarts of oil. I sure hope the new filter is better than the last one!! The service writer says it does happen but I am glad it happened in my driveway AND NOT OUT ON THE INTERSTATE DOING 75-80 mph!

Re: Disaster Averted

I like them. They take up some of what I considered to be a slight sway in sweeping curves like on-ramps and general around town driving. Our Commander believe it or not handled very nicely and I missed that. Now, a lot of that confidence has returned with the links. Very beefy with a solid connection. If you look closely at the stock links you will see what I mean.

Re: Disaster Averted

None that I can feel. The wife doesn't find anything wrong with them either. Good thing for me!
