New to Forum. I'm about to buy a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. Dealer located one I want (4x4, Black, Sienna Brown Int. California package) MSRP $54,280. What kind of discount should I expect? Also trying to decide about Cali package, Like the painted mirrors and door handles but haven't seen Platinum trim and Satin carbon wheel in person, If anyone can comment on how they look in person, it would be appreciated. Thank you advance.

just to give you an idea of what can be had on cost the DC group buy that is available to anyone is 7% below invoice price that's plus a$599 fee and minus any current incentives which I think is currently $500?. if you hit around that price you are not doing bad at all.
cali package is nice, the best part is the mirrors and door handles, the wheels and chrome strips are still silver in color they are just not shiny, not a big difference just a little more muted. its nice but $1000 is a bit much for what it is but when you are spending that much get it the way you want it and like it.

It's not as much as it used to be. Go to http://truecar.com and find out invoice.

I think it's around 5% difference.

So good deal is around 9-12% off list (but don't take my word for it, do your homework)
To get above 4% off invoice probably requires group buy deal. Unless it's old 2014 stock.

I like using cars.com to see what dealers around the country are asking.
It gives you a good idea of what kind of deal you could get.

I have not experienced hidden costs beyond what has shown on cars.com
It does not include tax, does include destination, does not include "document fees", may or may not include current incentives but the lowest priced ones usually do include the current incentives so don't expect further discounts on the bargains you see on line.

What market are you in? The deal you can expect will vary from city to city. For example, I'm in NorCal Bay Area and I can swing a pretty good deal from the quotes I've collected on that exact vehicle you are shopping. The best deal I had was around $48,500 (about 10% under list and 5% under invoice) before tax, title and license. I know many dealers down in the L.A. area are dealing more aggressively than that so I could probably make the drive down and save even more.

Platinum pkg makes a big difference IMO with the body colored mirrors and door handles. I think the rims are better in the Satin carbon as well and hopefully won't show dirt as much as the glossy chrome.

As for the Dark Brown/black interior, I never really liked it when I saw photos online. A few weeks ago, I stopped at a local dealer and took a look in person at a Black Summit diesel with the brown/black interior and WOW! I was blown away at how much better it looks in person than in photos. The brown always looked very orange in color to my in the photos, but with the naked eye it's much more like a dark saddle which really goes well with the black. And I really like the lighter headliner in that color as well as it really lightens up the otherwise extremely dark interior with all black.

Good luck with your purchase!
