One would think the dealerships would be aware of a vehicles work history being posted on UConnect for the customer to see.

Re: Dishonest Dealership Practices?

I would just ask him for the service history and then inquire about anything you need clarification on. Mis-coding is not uncommon. They could have also entered the wrong VIN when entering a service.

As far as "accessories" that could be anything really...not necessarily an "option" perhaps a missing cargo net, trailer hitch cover, or even license plate bolt/screws.

I would just inquire to alleviate your concerns...no biggie.

I'm not making any deal over anything...simply reporting what I found listed on UConnect for my vehicles work history. I have not, and don't plan on reporting this to Chrysler, so feel free everyone to blow my thread here out of proportion. None of these work/accessories entries for instance ever showed up on UConnect for my 2014 Limited...only my present Overland.

Maybe they did a tire rotation ?
A tire rotation and balance in 20 minutes (stated on UConnect)...impossible...maybe for a NASCAR pit crew. My vehicle has wheel locks, and they never asked me for the key. It took them that long just to deal with the State inspection sticker.

I don't see how you think this is somehow getting money out of chrysler. If a dealer orders accessories how would this cost chrysler money? To me them ordering accessories would be profit for chrysler.
You don't see how the dealership could profit from ordering parts...receiving said parts...and NOT installing them on the vehicle they supposedly ordered them for? Or submitting a warranty claim to Chrysler for work that wasn't performed...really?

Like I said earlier, this is no skin off my back, and I don't plan on making a federal case over this, just wondering if anyone else has encountered this yet for their vehicles. My only concern of having a bunch of bogus claims on my vehicles history is the remote possiblity of it affecting the trade-in value of the vehicle...that's it.

Re: Dishonest Dealership Practices?

CGLimited: I would bother me too if the dealer was reporting bogus repairs to get money. However, I doubt that happens much so would not worry about it. Like others said, look into it and it was probably just a simple error or misunderstanding.

I looked up my GC and it had "NSA Inspection and Modification" listed - what does that mean?

Aren't the wheel locks a dealer installed option? I'd bet anything that's the accessory uconnect is talking about. But then again I have wheel locks and my uconnect doesn't have the accessory entry that yours has....

And if I were you I'd be interested in the history as well. It's crazy how some people here want to tell you how you should react to things.

Re: Dishonest Dealership Practices?

BTW, dealers do not need the wheel lock key for locks they provided. They have a master key.

You'd be surprised at how many dealers told me they'd have to cut mine off if I didn't have the key. Basically every dealer near me has either lost the dealership key recently or swore they never had one.

Good point, you may be on to something. My Overland did come with wheel locks...and the Jeep web site did not state that wheel locks were standard for the Overland. I assumed they were standard for the Overland because my Limited did not come with wheel locks.

Not saying you're wrong...but every dealership I've taken my vehicles w/wheel locks to asked me for the key or where it could be found.

Re: Dishonest Dealership Practices?

Are the wheel locks included with the 20" wheels?

My overland has 18" wheels with the ORA-2 package and I didn't get wheel locks. Not that I need them.

Re: Dishonest Dealership Practices?

Wheel locks are not standard on the Overland, I bet that is the accessory that was installed.

The dealer where I bought my Acura put wheel locks on every vehicle. On every visit the service writer took the key out of the storage compartment and put it in a pouch with the service ticket. I don't think they had a master.
