So I registered my 2nd new 2014 Grand Cherokee on the UConnect site the other week (I traded in my 2014 Limited for an Overland), and while playing around on the site, I noticed a couple things.
First, a little background. The dealership I bought my new 2014 Overland at had to get it from another dealership 60 miles away, the Overland I received had no additional options, and when I took delivery, the vehicle had about 100 miles on it. One week later, I went up to the dealership where I bought it from and got my new registration & safety sticker (in and out in about 20 minutes)...vehicle at that point had about 360 miles on it.
Now with that said, when I login into UConnect, and I go to "Maintain & Care", then "Service History", it lists all the supposed service my 2014 Overland has had done to it. It verifies that my vehicle originated at a different dealership with only 10 miles on it...but under service description it states "accessories". Accessories for what? My vehicle was a straight Overland with NO
options or accessories...I even verified this against the window sticker...nope, no accessories.
The other discrepency comes from the dealership I actually purchased the vehicle from. The date & mileage coincides from when I went back a week later to get the new registration & safety sticker, but under the service description it states "Rotate/Balance wheels"...no way could this had happened, I was there for no more than 20 minutes. the dealership never told me they did it, it's not on the work order, and they never even asked me where the wheel lock key was.
Now does this sound fishy to any of you? Could the two dealerships be stealing from Chrysler claiming they ordered phantom parts or claimed work that wasn't done? Or is this a matter of UConnect just being plain wrong.
