Do I need towing hooks on WK2?

I don't plan to offroad. There is a slight chance I may need to tow something (never did in 10 years that I had my GC '98).

However, it does snow in NYC and there is a chance of getting stuck in the snow. I also sometimes travel long distance.

If I need to be pulled out and don't have tow hooks or trailer package - can towing strap be safely connected in a way that will not damage body/drivetrain component?

Re: Do I need towing hooks on WK2?

Oh I really dont think there are any good tie down points.I was actually selling a pair of tow hooks from my jeep when I upgraded mine. I was going to sell them for around 100 since its like 150 new plus mounting hardware. Ill pm you if I try selling them again

I completely agree - I had them on my GC '98 in the front and any time I noticed them (which was about once a year on average) I thought "Cool!"

You'll only need to use them once to appreciate the investment. Be sure to purchase decent tow straps as well.

I just investigated this I need "recovery strap" - it is a different thing as you most likely know. No hooks on the ends and it stretches.

Re: Do I need towing hooks on WK2?

Im sure you could use them...but rarely. Especially if you dont plan to offroad. maybe you could use them to pull motorists out of snow banks in the NY streets? LOL......but there are other areas in the underbelly to connect to if you really needed towed out or needed to tow someone.
