Re: Do we need WK2 sub-forums?

things are perfect just the way they are, imo. the site is set up so i can find info on my vehicle while not having to sort through info on wranglers and older model jeeps.

putting everything in one section will make this site more like wal mart and less like a grocery store....I dont want to have to go through the fake furniture section to get to the milk.....JMHO

Re: Do we need WK2 sub-forums?

Nah, what the guys are talking about is having sub-sections within the WK2 forum.... NOT combining the WK2 with anything else

We just find that over time, there ends up being SO much information that it can be better to have sub forums, like Engine, Electrical, Suspension etc, rather than lump it all in one enormous forum...... can be easier to find what you're looking for

Re: Do we need WK2 sub-forums?

Bump.

At the earlier time of this thread, I recall voting that subforums were not necessary.

However, I have now changed this view, and feel that the WK2 forums have enough great thread inputs and subject matter that we would all benefit from better organization and reference points within subforum topics.

Props to the members posting this stuff, much appreciated, and thanks to the Mods who have been herding us cats.

Re: Do we need WK2 sub-forums?

In theory the sub forums are great. But only seasoned members use them. All to often do new and low posting members come and post tons of specific questions in the general area and they never use the search feature, lol

+1 to this notion. I was that guy not to long ago, and am still learning where to find great help elsewhere in JG outside of WK2. The subforums, tech section, and other topical sections go a long way in disseminating great reference info even if we all need reminders to search a bit first.

Many other enthusiast sites end up alienating either noobs or veterans at some point, but IMO, JG does a great job keeping both fired up.

Noobs get assisted all the time without too much grief (even if deserved). Many new Jeep owners bring a ton of solid experience from other more than worthy vehicles. Vets here are generous and bring a ton of Jeep credibility to the table (even if sometimes grumpy). We even have guys on the line and elsewhere in the company.
