Do you find your jeep loud? Highway with windows open

Just curious what others think.

Compared to other vehicles, I find my Jeep is extremely loud on the highway with the windows open. Maybe its just the seating position i'm in, or my height (or lack therof) directs the wind directly into my ears.

The wind visor on the sunroof seems especially loud. This is the first vehicle i've had with a mesh wind visor...it seems to add some extra hissing noises over their solid counterparts in other vehicles.

It's hands down the quietest vehicle I've been in with all the windows up, just cant help but notice how loud it is when the windows are down.

Anyone else?

It is a very quiet vehicle with the windows up. Maybe that's why it seems louder to you when they're down?

I dont find my Jeep any louder then the other cars with the panoramic sunroof open, nor with just the rear windows open

I don't notice it being loud - I do find that when the windows are up and the pano-sunroof is open, I get rid of the wind buffering noise by closing it about 2" instead of having it fully open.

I don't really drive with the windows down, especially on the highway. But, it is loud with the sunroof open compared to cars with solid sunroof diffusers I agree.

The front windows can be a tad noisy. Not enough for me to spring for air deflectors...

OP doesn't say what type of noise... or suspension and wheel/tire options or what type of road, speed, etc.

I find the road noise from the Michelin Latitudes to be a bit more than other, better, Michelins, but any reasonably aggressive tread will be noisy.

Wind noise with front windows open is to my ears a bit more than an older ZJ... I suspect I could stifle it with deflectors if I cared.

Power train noise, with the V8 it isn't noise, it is [fairly muted] music!!!

Its all wind noise I notice, the sunroof deflector being the main culprit, as I determined on the ride home from work this afternoon.

It definitely could be the drastic difference between windows up and windows down, but I found it much easier to carry on a "windows open" conversation in my Lexus IS350.

Certainly not the end of the world, and not a big problem at all. I was just curious what others thought.

I find that if only the rear windows are down there is a very bad buffeting at anything over 50 mph. Cracking the front passenger usually relieves it. Haven't tried driving with the flipper window open.

I usually drive all vehicles the same way; my window down, and the rear drivers side down the same amount as mine. Not only is it quieter, but the wind isn't nearly as much in my face, messing up my hair etc

Are you sure you want to go there with that mussed hair crack on a mixed membership forum?

If you must go there, just start a poll on how many drivers only drive windows down when by themselves without ..... other members in the vehicle.
